thks for the helpful reply:) -
XYZ1:
hi, just to add on:
Hi..my son just completed his 3 years with JCK and is now in P1. Just to share with you that JCK is probably one of the better kindys in Jur area...as the sch prepares the kids well for P1. The English and Maths at K2 really prepared my son well for P1 now...in fact his P1 spelling now is \"easy\" for him...mysharebear24:
Hi mummies
i stumble upon this thread n hope someone can help me with these questions, thks:)
-my girl will turn 3 this yr n next yr will be N2. thinking of JCK N2. think in taman jurong. just wondering if it's worth it sending her on a sch bus there since i stay near pioneer mrt? as in, is the syllabus good enough n environment good?
-does the curriculum offer chinese n if so, how long is the lesson?
-anyone knows when will registration start for N2?
appreciate any reply, thks!
The Principal - Mrs Lin is a very strict and warm lady, the teachers are generally quite dedicated and they always hv a way to \"tame\" the children...my son loved the sch so much that he did not want to go to P1 as he wanted to study in JCK \"forever\"...generally, i had no regrets sending my son...and in fact i pulled my daughter out (she's supposed to be K1 in 2011) and put her in childcare now since we've shifted away from jurong area...and i'm having 2nd thots now.....
The sch does offer chinese...but i'm not sure the # of hours they spent on chinese a week, u hv to ask the sch.
I stayed near gek poh previously and my children took sch bus to JCK...general i hv no complaints abt the sch as i find the sch environment genuinely warm and i saw how both my children enjoyed the sch tremendously.
Hope this helps.
I am indeed very grateful to the principal, Mrs Lin, she showers lots of love on my gal who is now in nursery. After the intial 2 weeks there, she started to show signs of separation anxiety, maybe because of \"the disappearance of novelty in a new envt\", hence refused to go school.
Mrs Lin took care of her when she stepped into school as she was crying. She assured my gal, comforted, and encouraged her. This really helped her a lot and she feels more secured and though my gal still nagged about going to school at times, she is no longer so fearful.
I reckon this is part and parcel of having to settle into a structured schooling envt. I am thankful to the attention that the teachers have given to my gal. They are indeed very patient and dedicated. -

1) Does JCK has Pre-Nursery class? My boy was in Sept 2009 and I am wondering is he eligible for P-Nursery class 2012?
2) We are staying near JP, 68+ - does any parents know whether doe the school bus ply this way?And what is the school bus fee?
Sorry, if I ask too many questions  ....TIA for reading. -

No problem, my pleasure...i myself hv learnt a lot from other parents in ksp forum.....and by the way...one more pt...if u are so concerned abt chinese curriculum...my advice is send your child to berries.Hi XYZ1
thks for the helpful reply:)
I did that with my 2 kids and they loved berries and the sch environment is also very warm with caring teachers. I recommend the bt batok one (opp west mall and located inside the community center)..but they hv a long waiting list.
Hope this helps again. -
Hi XYZ1
I sure am concerned abt whether a sch offers CL curriculum since most children have problem with the language at pri level n if this prob is not properly addressed when we parents know it, then we will be putting our kids under unnecessary stress. Wow, I didn’t know even enrichmt ctr in the west r also subj to long waiting list! I’ll check out the ctr then, is it mainly learning thru speech n drama, poems, stories etc? Thks! -

Hi...Berries try to teach chinese in a fun way...for the pre-primary kids.Hi XYZ1
I'll check out the ctr then, is it mainly learning thru speech n drama, poems, stories etc? Thks!
My kids...and many of my other friends' kids all seem to enjoy this \"fun\" way of learning mandarin.
Once they hit K2 level, they introduce hanyu pinyin and for their primary sch levels, they follow the MOE chinese curriculum closely...
in fact, they actually prepare your child well for higher chinese in pri sch..this is my personal experience la. -
