National serviceman needs maid to carry his backpack

Daddy
so the argument that army boys cannot cry... or crying army boys cannot protect the country... is flawed.
I remembered once, during tutorial we discussed about MM's tears when we were separated from M'sia.SAHM_TAN:
ummm, on the topic of crying, our MM also did so on national TV once. I would say it all depends on the circumstance why tears were involved. Despite that event, I don't think anyone would dare say our 'enemies' are scared of us becos he shed some tears.
I don't know the actual situation of that crying nsman, and that's that.
Tears can be dropped but not lightly dropped but maybe I'm out of step since we have the SNAG and the metrosexual man.
:celebrate:
My personal preferance is during wartime, I do not want to see my commander cry. It might be unfair but to me despite all the advances in technologies, soldiers are warriors. Even in the worst situation, have to dig deep. It's a sexist statement I admit, and I'm surprise that I feel this way but I would not want to see my commander cry. -

Yeah... take a chill pill... perhaps he's an army regular? :celebrate:
I do not see anything wrong with jessicawongcs's posts. Aren't we getting a bit uptight here?INNOVATE:
I feel especially sad on the posting from jessicawongcs.INNOVATE:
Nobody said that NS is not impt. We all know that it is. But it doesn't mean that everyone here has to subscribe to ONLY your view to appreciate the impt of NS. We can choose to see the lighter side of things and STILL appreciate the impt of NS. No?Even if you do not appreciate the contributions from our servicemen/women, on this occassion, i have to educate you that is because of a strong SAF that we can have peace and security to bring up the next generation, our careers, homes and lifestyles. Without a reliable SAF, there's completely no future for Singapore.

Definitely there is a limit to jokes; but if you can be so offended by the mildness of what is being said here, then may I suggest that you refrain from posting in a public forum like this. There's a limit to jokes and i see as breaching of ethics by taking portshots of service personnel in a sacred instituition in this instance.

Defence accounts for the highest percentage of our expenditure ahead of education which is ranked no.2. Obviously, the reasons are self-explanatory.
Some may disregard NS as the most important contribution a man can render to his nation for reasons best known to themselves. To me, national service is not labelled โnationalโ for no reason. Thereโs just no higher calling than to serve NS, nothing can change my view on this point.
My ds will be called for enlistment next year after he finishes his jc education. He has recently indicated his ambition to vie for a PSC scholarship with SAF as his ultimate choice. Personally, i take pride in his ambition and am thankful for it. These are some of the reasons why i view SAF as a sacred instituition and not as just another instituition.
Daddy D, your suggestion makes me laugh. FYI, i am just an ordinary woman well-informed in education and financial matters. You are long enough here to observe it.
Markfch, you and me hold different view points with regard to defence matters. -

Yeah... take a chill pill... perhaps he's an army regular? :celebrate:
I wonder how robust our Army really is, if it can't even take pot-shots. I shudder to think how it would face real weapons!

If d NSman is injured, we shd empathize with his situation.
If he is simply spoilt, his arxx shd be kicked from where he is to Pasir Laba camp and then back again.
But we don't know his full circumstances.
Though a pix like dat does lend itself to ridicule at face value.
Wonder if he has bibs and pampers in dat backpack?

To each and everyone
It has been a real pleasure to learn and share with parents here on education and other matters for almost seven months.
As with all material things, there must be an end. On this occassion, i would like to conclude my journey with KiasuParents.com with this final posting. Some here may be happy to see this notice.
Wishing all parents here with joys in bringing up their loved ones.
Lord Bless! -

Cool... scholar-to-be.... but haven't enlisted... so I'll refrain from comments that will burst his SAF bubble...

Surprised to see a woman with such passionate views on SAF
FYI, I didn't take the time to observe your posts in other threads.
