      Jovi had 2 strings, string A and string B.Initially, string A was thrice the length of string B. Jovi then cut 9.1m from string A and 140 cm from string B. The length of string B became 1.5 times of string A. What was the length of string A at first? Express your answer in centimeters.

        Mrs Tan bought 4 times as many toy guns as teddy bears. She spent $1750 altogether. A toy gun cost $10 less than a teddy bear. The total cost of toy guns was $490 more than the cost of teddy bears.

        (a) How much did Mrs Tan spend on the teddy bears?

        (b) How much did one teddy bear cost?

        Hi ,

          Marie, Jonathan and David shared a sum of money. The total amount of money received by Jonathan was 2/3 the amount ofmoney received by David. Marie received twice as much as what Jonathan and David received. After Marie had given $48 to Jonathan and $27 to David, Jonathan gave $3 to David. In the end, 3 of them had the same amount of money. Find the difference between the amount of money that Marie and Jonathan had at first.

          At first
          J [-][-] (2u)

          D[-][-][-] (3u)

          M[-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-] (10u)

          J [-][-] (2u) + 48 - 3

          D[-][-][-] (3u) + 27 + 3

          M[-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-][-] (10u) - 48 - 27

          3u + 27 + 3 -----> 2u + 48 - 3

          1u -----> 15

          Difference between the amount of money that Marie and Jonathan had at first = 8u = 8 * 15 = $ 120 (Ans)

            my friend asked me this P2 Math question, can somebody help? the answer is 73, but how to get 73?

            http://postimage.org/image/2qhptxcec/
            The rule to the logic is adding up the digits on each side. The total is 45, e.g. for the top row 8+7+5+0+6+4+9+1+3+2 = 45. Same in the other directions. So, the ? digits should add to 10. The answer can be 91, 82, 73, ...., 37, 28, 19.

                Ermmm.. are you sure this is P1 or P2 paper? P1 only deals with number to 100 and P2 is until 1000. very higher order qn. Suitable for a P3 pupil.

                  Is it time to send her for math class? :idea:

                    My girl is in P1. Her maths quite ok... yes she did tell me sometimes she was unable to complete her maths in class but most of the time, she got not much problem.

                    My girl is attending an maths enrichment class now. I am sending her because I want her to be more exposed to different teachings and different levels of Maths concepts and foundations...compared to just the school curriculum. Most enrichment centres cover more areas/topics faster than the schoool and drill the kids with slightly tougher questions too... If this is what you are looking for, then it might be time to keep a look out for a suitable maths class... just my 2 cents worth.

                      Hi Callie,

                      There is once my girl also can't finish her math work in class. She told me she dun't really understand the topic that why hold her up.

                      Yesterday is a math task test, so marks will be counted. I am quite worry. šŸ˜ž

                      I think my girl's teacher is training them on the speed too. Not only must accurate and must be able to do fast too.

                        I think for most P1 kids, they are all learning to complete their work(English, Maths or Chinese or Art) within the stipulated time given. Give them some time to adapt to this... Tests and exams are new thing to them. I still remember myself telling my girl before her 1st test in March this year, that she was not to speak to any friends or borrow anything during the tests... if not the teacher will \"catch\" her...hahaha...

                        Well, if your girl is having problems with the understanding of concepts then you might need some external help. However, I do know of some kids who are genuinely slow because they are slow lor, they write slowly and carefully.... Identify the real issues/problems and move on from there.
