I’m quite confused. Must i join CCC or CCMC in the grc i want or just any CCC or CCMC? My choice of school is in marine parade grc.
There is a RC at my block and another one within walking distance, but the other is under marine parade grc and mine under macpherson. So i must have missed by a boundary. can i join that RC instead and yet qualify for phase 2b? -

You must join whatever grassroots committee in Marine Parade GRC since the school you want is in that GRC. But since your house is Macpherson, you cannot join RC or NC. Try the others...see http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/faqs/#registration-proceduresI'm quite confused. For your convenience:
37. How do I qualify as an active community leader for registration at Phase 2B?
Current serving executive committee members of the Residents’ Committee (RC), Neighbourhood Committee (NC), Citizen’s Consultative Committee (CCC), Community Club Management Committee (CCMC) and the Community Development Council (CDC) are eligible to register their children under Phase 2B. Please approach your Constituency Office for more information. -
join the NC or RC with a genuine intention of doing community work and treat the 2b status as a POTENTIAL benefit/bonus. do it with this mindset and set the expectation that at the end of the day you may not get it. but at least you have done something useful and contribute to your community.
when you join solely for the purpose of 2b registration you are setting yourself up for disappointment. nothing is definite. what happens if they remap the grc boundries during the year you are serving and your house/school are now in different GRCs? -
Yes i agree. Phase 2b does not guarantee a place automatically. If we done all that we could and the demand is overwhelming at the end of the day, would still end up balloting.
BTW, does anyone knows how many executive members in southeast CDC? Since it encompassed many grc and smc, should be quite a lot of volunteers i supposed. Would it be harder to get exec membership? -

enter your postcode at the bottom right corner. it will give you the details of the specific Constituency you fall under. then you go to the constituency website, they should have a listing of the NC and RCs there, and these listings usually have a name list of members. You can gauge from there. -
Hi all
I’m helping my friend to check about Joining the NC route, she is planning to move to novena by end of this year becos of the sch she wan to enrol her child in, and she know phase 2C may be tough becos the balloting.
Can she talk to the NC to tell them that she wan to serve the committee at novena zone, once she move will inform the NC…
Can this work?
Please advise.
Thank you so much. -

Hi Parents,
The term for all committees are two years. For YEC, the term will starts between July to Oct this year depending on the BGM while the term will starts will start in April this year for other committes.
You might want to talk to SCM directly as they are more open minded and well informed than chairperson.
So don't hesitate, just march to the community centre to talk to the SCM.
Just wonder do you know how long will a SCM stays in the CC? What if they do have a term period too, and by then if we needs the letter and the old SCM left... then :stupid:

once she moves in just contact the PA folks at molmein division (pek kio cc) and tell them she wants to volunteer at the NC and they will inform her of the date of next meeting and invite her to attend as an observer (assuming all criteria are met - e.g. singaporean or PR, address on IC is correct etc etc).Hi all

hi i heard from a friend who is a rc member that from next year onwards, no more eligibility under phase 2B? Anyone can validate the info?

guys, i am on both RC and CCMC. i am passionate for serving my community only. i notice that most of our members have been serving the community for many many years. think twice if you want to join RC. we need people to serve the community. of course you will get some small benefits such as priority for primary school and hdb new flat priority for low income family.
