I think this is really an attitude problem. If the bus drivers don't see this as part of their job, it is very difficult to concentrate driving with a busload of screaming kids. Maybe I am wrong and too old-fashion.

I don't know how full the bus is by the time your son gets home, but it is still quite full when mine gets home and it is a RIOT in the bus. There is no way the driver can be louder than them and I think the only way he can drive is to totally tune it all out. I can hear all the kids in the bus from my unit on the third floor. I know it is all in the name of fun, and my son is as mischievious as any other boy, but I really feel very alarmed sometimes at the amount of activity in a moving bus. I have told ds to sit away from the door etc (once the poor driver was so distracted he forgot to pull up the brake when he stepped out for a while and the entire van began to move slowly down the (very gentle) slope.)

only last week ah?! Mine picked it up weeks ago! Now he and his younger brother whisper about the \"naughty f-word\". Yesterday he came home with stories from a P2 boy who said he would show the middle finger to his classmates during swimming class under the water. The same P2 boy also told them how he worked all the bad words into his show and tell segment in class (but I think he is telling tall tales to \"impress\" the younger ones). I can only and remind him that doing the same will reflect badly on him.

Also yesterday, he came back and asked me what \"molest\" mean. grrrr... Apparently they have stopped the chase and kiss, but some of the boys were \"tapping\" a girl all over and she used the word.

Did anyone went to the sports day at Clementi station last month , wonder why the school holding sports day which starts from 12.30pm to 4.30pm . Most schools held sports day in morning to avoid afternoon sun . Wonder who is the organizer of this event , expecting the kids to run in hot sun , does he know what is heatstroke ?

That is a valid concern that you can raise with the school. It may affect their planning next year.

Time flies. Almost end of 2nd term. DS is still enjoying his life just like in preschool. From beginning term till now, he will play all day after he returned from school.(just like school holidays). Makes me worry that it will become his nabit for the next few years.
Maybe this is what they called\"P1 the honeymooners year\"
He never prepared forhis test or spellings or even timgxie...

womder what other P1 kids after school are like? I had to push him to read a few pages of storybooks everyday.
DH says children are like that .

Same here, my boy will continue to play and watch tv after sch. Very reluctant and always give excuses when come to do homework. There were twice that he suddenly got up of his bed in the night after realising that he did not do homework!!!

Hi all, my boy will be transferred to 2 Graciousness in the new term as we have just moved to the estate. Would like to know whether any of your children are in that classs and how the teachers for this class fare…

No choice. Have to depend on self-discipline. Often times, he had to be drag to take his bath or dinner. His sleep time is 8plus so no time left afte he do his hw and request to watch TV. I did prepare him for his MT show and tell recently after his FT comment on his English Show and Tell, to practise at home more often.

From what I know, P1 and P2 work are easy. His teacher said he is attentive in class . So maybe no problem now. But P3 will be shocking tjme. Big jump I guess. worry he will suffer then since he is so used with his carefree life.

Wow, yr DS so responsible . Poor fella, worry about his hw even when he sleep? my DS often forget to bring his completed HHW to school. Now , towards end of term 2, he becomes more aware of what to bring..

We are considering putting our boy at BTPS next year. May I ask if the school conducts any \"tests\" during orientation to assess the kids before entering P1. One of the schools I visited told us that they do \"test\" the kids during orientation..

No worries. No tests during Orientation. I heard they stopped that a few years ago.HTH.
