Will monitor the situation. Just a thought the birth rate 2003: 37485 compared to previous 3 yrs (2000: 46997, 2001: 41451, 2002: 40760) was much lesser. Wishfull thinking on my part that I might have 0.1 chance of getting balloting within 1-2km…dreaming lo. To be realistic, I cannot decide the contigency plan of 2nd choice sch. What neighbour (AMK/Bishan) sch do u suggest?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and in phase 2C registration for my son. I'm within 1-2 km to Aitong. I cant decide whether I want to try for Aitong as I might not get a chance to ballot. 'cos past years balloting for phase 2C was only for those within 1 km.

Can anyone out there give me some advice if I should try Aitong??

Judging from the just concluded phase 2B registration, I don't think you would even have the chance to register, i.e. balloting is likely to occur again for those staying within 1km.

Would suggest that you monitor the situation for the first 2 days of phase 2C registration and at the same time think of a 2nd choice school to register, if you have not already done so.

I agree with Tulip. Even if by some rare chance that Aitong is balloting for 1-2km this year, the competition would be very great. U have to gauge on the last day of 2C of ur chances.

Where do you reside? Bishan or AMK? It really depends on your own criteria in deciding the school to register for your child. Also, if you want a secured place or don't mind risking a ballot. You could consider Kuo Chuan in Bishan or for AMK, Anderson Primary.

No such thing lah. They upgraded some years back and completed an indoor sorts facility a few months ago.

actually i oso heard the sch may be moving temporarily in 2 yrs time, from someone in the sch ... of cos nothing is concrete yet ...

so any thing concrete on aitong moving in 2 yrs time. we just moved to > 1km from AIPS for purposes of hoping to get my son into the sch in 4yrs time. :shock:

This is alittle off topic but concerning Aitong… If someone is hoping to move to less than 1 km of Aitong and is looking at landed with a budget of not more than $1.3MM (depending on condition), which is the proposed housing area in that area ??? Preferably not too near the bright hill temple too.

With your budget, you can try thomson garden estate, thomson park, adelphi park estate, windsor park estate, island gardens and faber gardens but then again depending on condition of house, price can range from below 1mil to more than 2 mil. Please call school to check as a difference of 1 house no. just beside each other can render the house out of 1km, eg. house no. 23 and 25 (odd numbers on one side, thus there are actually just beside each other but house no. 25 can be <1km>2km even though house no. 23 is >1km.)

good luck! we spend ard 8 months house hunting for 1 within our limited budget.
