I'm staying near that centre & often than not, I would see some kids left standing outside, keeping very quiet, with the gate closed.

At some point of time, I almost approach the centre to ask what's is the excuse.

My son's at the Hougang Branch and he has been there since he turned 18mths. He's 2.5yo now.

I'm happy with the activities & communication so far with the teachers & P.

Be prepared that they have OUTDOOR activities daily if weather permits (I know of parents who withdrew their kids when they realised that there is outdoor activities). I love the outdoor activities as they go to the nearby park (no need to cross any roads) for walks, and my son learnt alot from these walks.

They helped to toilet train my boy also & he enjoys school alot. He was so upset this morning when I told him I was sick and not able to send him to school. He was already in his uniform when I woke up!

Before the H1N1 flu, they were very active in planning excursions. My son went on a few of them and really enjoyed the trips.

My son was not used to their menu (which I personally think is quite good due to large variety) because I controlled his diet very strictly (no salt/sugar/seasoning/processed food), so he had a hard time adjusting to the food mainly because my maid always cut his noodles until they are like rice, so there is no need to really chew. The school allowed us to bring his food in Thermo flask & they'll feed him what we bring. & they know his food preferences & will try to accomodate. They also know that I do not allow certain foods & they'll offer something else to him instead.

But I'm thinking LONG TERM & the down-side I noticed is that they do not emphasis or push on academics. I've spoken to the P & they are reviewing their curriculum to make it more rigourous to prepare the kids for Pri Sch (exposure to reading & writing earlier, more challenging contents).

Another thing you will like is that they do NOT ask you to PAY & PAY like other private kindies/CC. Other than the fees, everything else is optional and they do not 'force' you to pay. Of cos extra excursions are payable but the fees have been affordable & if you do not want to join in, they won't keep asking or show you black face 🙂

Forgot to mention, they have a file for each English & Chinese to show the fornightly lesson plans & pictures of the activities they did in class. & my son gets to bring home his artwork and ‘worksheets’.

Hmm, I send my kids to the one at Bt Batok… since the older boy is 22mths till now, in K1… Am quite happy with the place… Yes they have outdoor walks etc at least once a day if the weather permits… they are very stringent with the disease management, everytime there is any outbreaks, the teachers and principal will have their SOPs that they will follow and spreading is always very minimal…

I also like that the children are always engaged by activities… Other than after lunch, when the auntie cleans the floor, the children do not watch tv at all… Not even after classes when waiting for the parents to pick them up… they are always broken into smaller groups to play (puzzles, library, dramatic play, finger painting etc)…

I agree that their academic isn’t as strong as other places, but they do have alot of learning thru play… My kids always have activities like eg when they were learning abt occupations… the teachers arranged with the library and brought them there to speak to the librarian… they also visited the barber shop… and the teachers hung up a mirror to set up a pretend ‘shop’ so that the children and take turns to be a ‘barber’ … I find that in this area, they are doing better than most places of the same price range…

I’m quite disturbed to hear abt the children standing outside on their own though… think can go take a look ard and observe a few times before u make up your mind… cos while it all under PCS, different centre is still operated buy different principals and teachers… Only the overall curriculum and approach is the same.

hello to all mummies and daddies,

anyone here from this CC encounter CC with no Chinese in the schedule?
im new to CC r&r and didnt know anything about the trial lesson. hence i bought 2set of uniforms each… and after i paid, they brief me on the timetable and there was chinese in it but they say currently dun have. i asked when they say for PG1 18mth - 30mths class no intensive learning or exact learning… more of play involve.

im just kinda worried cause my Boy can pick up words fast. just that till now still dunno to self feed… wonder if he learn there or should i change to another CC since he has not started yet.

                    Hi Mrsbongz,

I'm also staying around Bukit Batok. Am considering sending my 3 year old boy to the school. Is it located at BLK 116?

I guess by now, you child has graduated and in P2 now.

May I ask for more feedback from you pertaining to the school. I guess in term of childcare they are really good???

How about academic? Is your child facing any difficulties in coping Primary school work? As I can see from the review that the school does not focus so much on Academic. And you know that we have no choice but to be slightly more competitive in terms of academic.

Any feedback about the Bukit Batok Branch would be much appreciated.
