There are still a few things which we daddies are useful for, and the life-long categorization of our children's heritage is one of them. If it doesn't say Hokkien in your identification papers (BC, etc), you're not Hokkien even if you can wax lyrical in Hokkien tongue-fu. -

BTW, how about Teochews? Any such clan with lobang? :roll: -

or mayb wat u mean is if the dad is teochew, bt wife is hokkien and she join...bt if the child needs a place, the child is considered teochew? so cannot use that affiliation? -
so long as one of the parents is hokkien, they don’t take the child’s dialect group.

As long as one parent is Hokkien, that parent can join the clan. The other parent and children can then enjoy the benefits of the clan membership without being members of the clan. -

Is Tao Nan part of this Hokkien thingy ? I'm Hokkien, but can't speak much of it :oops: But my IC does state I'm Hokkien

Yes Tao Nan is included. As long as your Birth certificate indicates you are Hokkien, you can join the clan.
