My PT maid of 9 years went back to Philippines and I was so lost. Called a few agencies and realized that it would be quite impossible to get PT help at $10/hr for weekends. Most charge $15/hr for weekends and $12/hr for weekdays… and an agency fee ranging from $50-$188!! What a huge difference right!!


Anyway, the first china help so-so but quite stubborn and has her own ways of doing things but she didn’t come after the 1st time. Then I was left helpless for the 2nd week till I pester the agency to get me a replacement. 3rd week, came another china lady. Much nicer and soft spoken but sad to say, her cleaning not thorough leh, she doesn’t shift things aside while vacuuming or mopping… and i washed the toilets again myself after she left. Sigh…

Think next week I have to be clearer with my instructions…

i used to have a part time maid, but just felt the charges were too high and i had to supervise them while they work, wasting my time and effort. recently got a irobot roomba from a singapore website, http://www.autovacstore.com, pretty surprised that prices are really affordable now (ard $500), even cheaper than if i were to bring it in myself from the US, anyway so far its been able to pick up lots of fine dust, and i am waking up with less allergens in the air.
