      Hi titank,

I'm having the same issue - shd my no. 2 follow my no. 1 or shd I enrol her into CHIJ? Headache all over again...

Precisely the same issue with me this year. I had a kid at ZDPS, so my daughter has got a place in Phase 1. But I was quite open to have her enrolled in CHIJ Kellock as I find ZDPS so so.

Unfortunately, we are just beyond 2km and when I called up and found out that places had already been exceeded, I decided to stay put rather than take a risk. Logistically, I guess it is easier for me to have my two kids in ZDPS although they will be in different sessions.

So, there are many issues you need to consider the next time round when your child registers for P1.

Ha..ha what are the issues to consider if putting the child in different school? My No.1 would be at RMPS next year & guess CHIJ (Kellock) is being located next to RMPS maybe can give due consideration. Had been analyzing whether CHIJ (Kellock) can drive through into the Bukit Purmei HDB estate or is strictly by foot!!

I heard someone said CHIJ (Kellock) is also not so transport friendly (SBS buses) where have to walk a certain distance from school to bus-stop (vice versa). Maybe those have child in CHIJ (Kellock) can share their experiences[/color]

Putting two kids in different schools will pose different logistic problems, like transports lah!.......of ocurse this is not the only issues.

As you know, RMPS and CHIJ Kellock is quite near each other while CHIJ and ZDPS are quite far apart. As you have mentioned, CHIJ is not so accessible and I don't think there is a road linking CHIJ to the Bkt Purmei HDB estate (please pardon me if I am wrong).

          kwcllf,

Ha..ha true in terms of logistics problem if both of them is not in the same location. Well maybe need to look at the street map see how accessible is CHIJ (Kellock). It seem either enter from the SGH (Jalan Bukit Merah) or from Lower Delta Road (Kampong Bahru). The Bukit Purmei (HDB) wonder are there any rear gate to enter which is near to Radin Mas Pri.

            Hi all

I used to live at Bt Purmei so I'm very familiar with the area.

There's no road leading from CHIJ Kellock to Bt Purmei estate. Strictly speaking, its only by foot from Bt Purmei estate, either via the staircase beside the chinese temple or you can walk down the path via Bt Teresa road.

If you drive, you can park at the carpark at Blk 111 which is just above the staircase and walk down or park at the side road (Bt Teresa Rd).

As for SBS bus, there's a bus-stop just less than 5 mins walk from the school at the Kampong Bahru Road.

There are 2 school gates. The side gate is nearer to the bus-stop, and is just in front of the temple. The main gate is at the side road.

Hope this information is helpful to all those who managed to secure a place in CHIJ Kellock for their child. I wanted to place my daughter in the school too, but I live out of 2km, so had to give up the idea as I didn't want to ballot. Placed my girl in Zhangde instead as her daddy is an old boy of the school.

Wow wonder whether the HDB Parking Aunties or the TP would be on carry out parking enforcement in HDB carpark & the Traffic Police on Bukit Thersa Road? Wait like send kid to school never put coupon then kanna $30 :moneyflies: or worst $70 :moneyflies: by Traffic Police.

                Hi All!

Was out the whole week, hence didn't check the forum.

I will be one of the 80 vying for 65 places in RMPS next Tuesday at 9 am.

We had initially wanted to register at Zhangde because the situation was still optimistic at the end of the second day. However, when we called up the school at 3 pm on 31 Jul, was told 37 vying for 35 places in the 1-2 km category. Eventually, we decided to stick to RMPS.

                Hi Chipmunks!

Your number was 66? Then, we could have met each other, because my number was 64. Did you go with your husband? I went with my two kids. Don't know whether you recall seeing a very tall boy?

Well, wish us good luck in the balloting next week! :xedfingers: πŸ™

                    Hi QMS & Chipmunks,

Nice to hear from you again! Thought you had MIA in the Bukit Merah thread. So you & Chipmunks taking part in the balloting of RMPS? 65 places fight by 80 parents? Like that the chance is like 81% where 4 places fight by 5 persons.

Wish you all good luck. The balloting can witness a not?
Heard someone mentioned it would be internally ballot?? Wow like that how to prevent β€œβ€˜Kelong”

                      Hi Titank!

Thanks for your well wishes! Hope we will get in, and join you at the parent support networking group thread.

Yes, we are allowed to witness the balloting. Balloting will be carried out on 11 Aug, not 10 Aug. 10 Aug is a public holiday in lieu of National Day, which falls on Sunday. Balloting will be at 9 am.

Wow I think this whole week until the balloting day you have to keep on worrying. The balloting is being drawn by parents? Like that go pray pray (Depend on yr religion) see whether you can \"Zi Mou\" a not where draw your own number.
