      qms:
I'm actually quite curious. Out of the 128 who registered in RMPS, at least 40 are in the 1-2 km category. Why did the parents not withdraw their applications and register with other schools on the third day of Phase 2C registration, knowing that they will not even have the chance to ballot? They wouldn't have wasted their Phase 2C chance if they had withdrawn their applications on the third day and registered elsewhere. :?

Maybe RMPS never inform those stay at 1-2Km or beyond 2km to withdraw? it could be those parents hoping miracle to happen where still 1Km to 2Km have chance take part in balloting?

There could be some parents prefer to awaiting \"death sentence\" at RMPS knowing that just waste thier chance, they could be trying to plan in waiting list?

          Hi Rena!

:congrats: At least you do not have any burden now, and what's more you are happy with your decision! Did you and your husband come to this decision only on the third day?

I am within 1 km from RM, and hence, will be taking part in the balloting. Thank you for your well wishes! I hope my son has the luck to get into RMPS. πŸ™ :xedfingers:

hi, i’ve just came to know about this forum and find this interesting. hope parents can help me. My mum stays at bkt purmei. the plan is to register my girl nearby to her (preferably to either Radin Mas primary or CHIJ Kellock) as someone will be there to look after her after sch.

              which pri sch is better?
CHIJ Kellock is affli to St. Theresa’s Convent. Does it help in her sec?
as i dun stay near, i can only provide volunteer services to sch, right?
which pri sch shld i provide volunteer services??

oh yes, not quite for this thread but also thinkin if i shld change my girl from Cherie Hearts to PCF for nursery/K1/K2? Any advice??
Does PCF prepare child for P1??

your advise is greatly appreciated. tks.

                Hi lu_meihua!

I will try to answer your questions one by one.

                lu_meihua:

Since you will be using the caregiver route, you fall under the 1-2 km category, even though your mother lives in Bt Purmei.
                lu_meihua:
                which pri sch is better?
Both schools are equally good in Bt Merah area. It depends on what type of education you want your daughter to receive. E.g. Radin Mas is strong in IT, whereas for CHIJ Kellock, you may like to consider the religious aspect.

However, since you will be using your mother's address, you fall in the 1-2 km range. This year, Radin Mas has balloting for those within the 1 km group. If you do not perform PV, you will not even have the chance to go for balloting in Phase 2C.
                lu_meihua:
CHIJ Kellock is affli to St. Theresa's Convent. Does it help in her sec?
Your daughter will be able to get into St. Theresa's Convent with a lower cutoff point in PSLE. Other than that, I don't think it really matters.
                lu_meihua:
as i dun stay near, i can only provide volunteer services to sch, right? which pri sch shld i provide volunteer services??
CHIJ Kellock doesn't accept parent volunteer. Hence, you only have Radin Mas. By the way, when is your daughter due for registration? You may like to note the closing date for application of PV.
                lu_meihua:
oh yes, not quite for this thread but also thinkin if i shld change my girl from Cherie Hearts to PCF for nursery/K1/K2? Any advice?? Does PCF prepare child for P1??
I am not too sure about PCF because my children are not in there. However, my daughter's childcare teacher, whose daughter is currently in CHIJ Kellock, withdrew her daughter from the childcare centre to a kindergarten (no idea which one, though). In addition, she also sent her daughter to additional classes \"in preparation for her P1\" because she heard that \"CHIJ Kellock was very tough\".

However, it may help for you continue putting your daughter in Cherie Hearts if you plan to put her in before/after care student service when she starts her primary education. Cherie Hearts in Bt Purmei offers before and after student care services, too. Hence, your daughter (assuming she is currently in the Cherie Hearts in Bt Purmei) will be in a familiar environment. How is the Cherie Hearts branch your daughter is in currently? Is it good?

                  hi
u can register ur girl (based on statutory declaration) so both school will be under 1-2km category (even if ur mum place is less than 1km). for this yr, >2km requires balloting.

chij is affiliated so she will need lower score to enter the sec vs the public. chij does not hv pv prior to P1

as for RM, i think they r quite selective abt PV. If u keen in RM, would suggest u do PV as there's balloting even for <1km this year. those do did PV have been all selected at phase 2B

                    hi qms,

                    thank you so much for clearing my doubts. sorry, i've more questions;

                    qms:
Since you will be using the caregiver route, you fall under the 1-2 km category, even though your mother lives in Bt Purmei.
so I'm using Phase 2C, right?
does it help if I change my IC address to my mum's address??
                    qms:

PV = Parent Volunteers? sorry am not familiar with abbv.
If I'm not given a place in Radin Mas, will I be given a place in CHIJ Kellock or have to re-register again??
                    qms:
By the way, when is your daughter due for registration? You may like to note the closing date for application of PV.
My girl turns 7 in 2013
so working backwards = got to register in 2012 right?
                    qms:
How is the Cherie Hearts branch your daughter is in currently? Is it good?
                    how do you define \"good\"??
