      Hi!

      lu_meihua:
so I'm using Phase 2C, right? does it help if I change my IC address to my mum's address??
Regardless which phase you are in, as long as you are using your mother's address, your daughter falls under the 1-2 km category.

You may, of course, change your IC address to your mother's address. However, will you be staying there? Or do you want to change it merely to boost your daughter's chance of getting into the school? You may like to note that if you do not physically stay in the address that you indicated, and if found out, your daughter will lose her place in the school. MOE will transfer her out of the school. In addition, as parents, is this the value you want to inculcate to your children? Please consider carefully.
      lu_meihua:
PV = Parent Volunteers? sorry am not familiar with abbv.
      That's right.
      lu_meihua:
If I'm not given a place in Radin Mas, will I be given a place in CHIJ Kellock or have to re-register again??
You will have to register in CHIJ Kellock in the subsequent phase. It is not automatic.
      lu_meihua:
My girl turns 7 in 2013
so working backwards = got to register in 2012 right?
Your daughter turns 7 in 2013. So, you will register her in 2012, which means you need to apply to be a parent volunteer in 2011 because you need to clock min. 40 hours within the next one year to qualify you for registration in Phase 2B in 2012.
      lu_meihua:
      how do you define \"good\"??
My question was more directed at you. If you think Cherie Hearts is good, you may like to leave your daughter in the centre instead of changing her to PCF. You will have to define \"good\" yourself.

u can register ur girl (based on statutory declaration) so both school will be under 1-2km category (even if ur mum place is less than 1km). for this yr, >2km requires balloting.

can to explain a bit further?? what is statutory declaration???
are you saying I can register my girl in both schools????

        hi
this is to declare at moe that ur girl is full time under ur mum's care (she must not b working) while both u n ur hubby are working full time.

pls refer to F: Statutory Declaration
        http://www.moe.edu.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/required-documents/

ur mum might be within 1 km from both school, but this declaration can improve ur chance to 1-2km, not the actual distance.

u can only register ur girl at 1 school at each phase.

eg. phase 2B at RM if u r a PV or at CHIJ if u r affiliated. if u r not successful, u will b auto de-register. hence u will nid 2 register during phase 2C again, at 1 school only as the system is smart enough to detect.

unless u face the situation that u find tat after u register at RM, u sure face ballot, hence decided to try CHIJ. In this case, u will nid to withdraw from RM, then register at CHIJ

Hee... Chief, do I qualify? I may not have the immense advice and insight that jedamum and Luanee have.

But, I don't mind helping others out! I was equally confused when I first joined the Kiasu forum. It's all thanks to you and all fellow forummers for helping me clear my doubt. So, now, it's my turn to contribute.
