I am deciding btw Temasek Primary and Ngee Ann. For Temasek, I am within 1 km but understand from past history that balloting is req’d even for those within 1km under phase 2C. As for Ngee Ann, I am outside of 2km range … Anybody has any advice on what is the best strategy given my circumstances? Any thoughts / feedback on Ngee Ann?

Hi, parents, my girl is going to P1 in 2011, I am considering Red Swastika, just realized it is SAP school after browsing the forum. Could anyone share their view about this school, I don’t worry about higher Chinese (she just need to cope with it, we are Chinese anyway), but more to the academic and teacher quality of the school in all aspect and also to the fact that there are no or minimum number of kids from other races, will that post a potential problem for kids to interact with other races or accept cultural difference in future? I was accepted as PV for Red Swastika, but nothing being assigned yet, does any parents know what kind of duties the school allocate normally, will they allocate at least 40 hours before next years registration?

Besides Red Swastika, I am also looking at Temasek Primary, not sure which one is a better school to go to. Appreciate if you could share your experiences with these two schools. Thanks

Can someone advise how do you fare St stephen over Fengshan?

Hmm..not too sure if you are looking at academice achievements or popularity .... but looking at the votes above - St Stephen's has 12% while Fengshan is 0%. I guess In terms of popularity, St Stephen's reigns over Fengshan given the votes ...

              Hi Mandie,

I can't speak for RSS but my kids are in Maha Bodhi (as SAP and traditionally chinese) and as part of their aesthetics cirriculum, they learn kombang, indian dances that is taught by the native. I heard they also have malay conversational course in upper primary. In addition, one observation is that the school now has malay teachers (none during my era) as well as I thot I saw some Indian students. I just want to drive the point that SAP school doesn't mean it's all chinese only. I see SAP school as a place where the kids have to cope with 2 languages equally well (eg. both are like 1st language).

In our case, the kids attend other enrichment classes and there are bound to be kids of other races. They play along well. I don't really think it's a issue in cultural diverse Singapore as there are always people of different races all around eg. in malls, foodcourt,etc...

I started the PV in Temasek this week and had been seleted as PV for RSS, guess i will wait till next jun to decide which school to go to. I glad to have the oppt to do PV for both schools, that way i will be able to know the school better before making the decision

                    Hi Mandie,

Is it possible to do PV for more than one school? I also would like to apply for PV for Red swastika pri. Can I know how to go abt to do PV? My boy is only 17th months. Is it too early to apply PV?

                        Hi Jerejoy

Yes, you can do PV for many schools as you wish, but you could only register one school in 2B, so eventually you still need to make up your mind. 17 mths probably too early, you may call the school to check when you should submit the form. My girl born on 2004, i called last year, and they told me to get the from in by May this year, and I had received the reply on Jun, but so far no matched job yet.
