do we still need to do volunteer work after we have gotten a place at ZD? I'm worried about the screening test  not sure if my son is ready for it... haiz... by the way, how's the standard of the school and also the teachers?

Hi nottiepig2009, by being in the Parent's Support Group, you can probably see and answer your questions by yourself. That's the advantage πŸ™‚

        Hi all

You don't have to worry or stress about the 'screening test' for your child. Your child can do it! πŸ˜„

Last year, my child had termly feedback tests for his Maths and English in P1. It was like topical test and not make known to the parents, I was surprised when they were returned for parent's signature. I guessed the school didn't want to add more stress to the parents and the students. I am not sure how it is for current year P1, but I overheard a conversation between two P1 parents discussing about their children's marks.

For P2, there are CA and SA exams for English, Maths for every term and SA only for Chinese . I don't know if it will be the same for next year.

The same group of teachers (P1/P2) that had taught my child was incredible. My child and the peers were always motivated to perform well.

A few of the parents in my child's class have also joined the PSG.

          Hi,

Can you advise what are the roles of PSG? I am working and not sure if I can be available when required.

              Hi,
My son will also be going to P1 at ZDPS next yr. I'm new to this forum. Accidentially found out abt this website a few days before the 2C registration phase. Found it to be very good. Didn't know that I'm not the only parent facing problems choosing betwen RV and ZD. Had initially registered in RV but withdrawed my application at 4.15 pm and registered at ZD cos didn't want to go thru the torture of having to ballot and stressed up again. Look forward to sharing more information with parents whose kid will be going to ZD next yr. :celebrate:

              Hi nottiepig2009,

Were you the one staying at Jalan Bukit Merah and were at ZD to monitor the situation while your sister was at RV to monitor for you and it was your friend who drove you to ZD? Because when I was at ZD waiting for my turn, I met a lady who was in the same situation as what you described above.

                Hi,

Nope. My husband was at RV and I was at ZD 3.45 pm wandering around cos can't decided if we should withdraw my application at RV. Only decided at 4pm. By the time I completed the registation at ZD, it was already 4.15 pm !! Luckily I made it in time!! πŸ™

                  Hi nottiepig2009

The PGS is solely on voluntary basis. As a PSG, you play an active role in
the school programmes and activities. You may be involved in library activties ,celebration/ festivals, sports day, etc. There will also be meetings involved. During your child's orientation, there will be a PSG counter and you may want to check with them. The school website under the parent's column also provides some infor of the PSG.

I am not involved in the PSG, but I always particpate in my child's learning journeys (half day), PTM, inter-house sport or children's performance. I am always there so that my child knows I am interested in what he's learning and doing in school.

                    Hi all,

I used to be from Zhangde Primary.

This one of the best school around during the early 90s along Jln bukit Merah πŸ™‚

Teachers and Principals are very strict then.

Now i am torn for next yr.. Should i send my children to Zhangde or To RVPS?

If i ballot for RVSP unsucessfully, can i go to Zhangde for direct entry? Please help..

                      Hi nettie

If you register your child under Phase 2C for RVPS, you'll not be eligible to register your child in Zhangde as an ex-student of the school.

What you can consider doing is to register in Zhangde in Phase 2A2 first as an ex-student and subsequently monitor take up rate in RVPS in Phase 2C. If there's a good chance of getting into RVPS, then you can withdraw your application in Zhangde and register in RVPS. If not, you are at least guaranteed a place in Zhangde as there's no balloting required in Phase 2A2.
