You need to have members to recommend you into their fold.

Hi Parents,


Like most of you, I have this intention of joining clan, RC, signing up as parent volunteer etc in order to get into Phase 2B. However the school which I prefer is > 2km from my house. Is it REALLY true that in the group of phase 2B applicant, the school will still sub-categorise them into <1km, <2km>2km. If so, would that mean that chances for category >2km is almost ZERO, especially if it’s a popular school you are applying. Can anyone out there help me to confirm this point…

The worst fear I am having now is that I have to buy a new flat/condo near that school, work as volunteer, join RC and even with all that, it doesn’t GUARANTEE any seat. Am I right !!! … -_-

Oh no... that should only be reserved for special occasions such as when you receive the letter telling you that they are not going to recommend you for Phase 2B registration because of yada yada problems.

with all these talks,it all boils dwn to 1solution - the best n the SAFEST is to stay within 1km frm the choice school.even without doing PV,chances r higher to get in even at phrase 2C within 1km...unless u wana b extra sure of getting a place - u stay within 1km n do PV,u'd get a chance 1phrase earlier.Even if it means u haf to ballot,u'd b balloting under phrase 2B within 1km...higher chance than phrase 2C within 1km...Chief,correct??

wow … that’s VERY sad to hear that … perhaps the government should also take into consideration the mindset of all parents in Singapore and what kind of fear and stress they are facing in order to help increase birth rate… I am really considering if i should "produce" more kids …

Tks alots. I manage to contact the RSS.. they told me we need 2 existing member to recommend .. and must at least be a member for at least 2 years in order to resgister the child in phase 2B.. .. i have give up hope..

Voovoo - If you are not a Hokkien, don't think you can join the clan, they are very strict on this.

By joining the clan does not means that you are under phase 2B automatically, you have to submit an application form for the school you want to register in and upon clan's recommendation, they will accept you as phase 2B applicants. Usually the recommendation will be out after the results of Phase 2A2 is release. I understand from here, some of the popular schools' application is not being recommended at all, that makes them not eligible for Phase 2B.

And for a moment, I thought Tao Nan do not required PV.

I see that there is a certain application form to be filled up. Does anyone have a sample of this form? Please pm or email to me. Thanks!!!
