Hi Candymum,
In Geylang area - Kong Hwa & Geylang Methodist Primary School are the most recommendable schools.
In Marine Parade - Tao Nan & Ngee Ann Primary School are the most recommendable schools.
Incase of child being balloted out of any of the above schools, I would recommend Tangjong Katong in Marine Parade. Eunos Primary will be better than MacPherson Primary School. You can look at their website to see their PSLE results for last year. Pls do not choose MacPherson Primary. My son was in MacPershon for P1 & P2. They have alot of foreign student especially those from China, Myammar and also other countries. Worst thing is that those from China, as they are not very good in English. You can see a China Student of 10 years old end up in P1 class. My son's case is a good example. These china students whol are quite big built end up bullying those P1 students of smaller size. My son was being bullied by a China Student of 10 years old in his 2 years in MacPherson. They steal his stationieries, bullied him. Everyday, he has to drag himself to go to school. Now I have transferred him to Geylang Methodist Primary, he is happier in Geylang Methodist. -

Hi
Recently I heard Tao Nan’s principle will be allocated to Eunos Primary, anyone has any idea about it? If it is so, will there be improvement.
Cheers -

Hi Candymum,
Sorry to hear about your child being balloted out of Geylang Methodist Primary. I'm not sure where you are staying. Haig Girl School is not bad too. My son was balloted out of Ngee Ann Primary. He was born in the year of Dragon. Subsequently I did some research and found out that some schools will have new intake when comes to P3. Under MOE regulation P1 & P2 the max students per class is 30. When comes to P3, the school will increase to 40 students per class. You need to do some research to check on those schools you are interested to put your kids in. I take e.g. Geylang Methodist, this year their P1 registraton no. of intake is 270 which mean only 9 classes for P1. When comes to P3, take 270/40 = 6.75. So they will have 7 classes of 40 students = 280 student when comes to P3, since they already have 270 existing students, they will take in 10 more new students. Another e.g. is Ngee Ann, P1 registration intake is 240 students = 8 class of 30 students. When comes to P3, they reduce to 6 classes i.e. 240/40 = 6 classes. So they'll not take in any new students unless there are existing students being transferred to another school. You still need to call the school to confirm. I hope to above info help you. -
Hi Ljas1370,
what happen if I cannot get in to eg. Tanjong Katong Pri. Can I then apply for Eunos Pri provided they still have vacancies. Or will govt allocate me any school. -

Hi!
If you are not successful in Phase 2C Supplementary (touch wood), you can apply for another school in Phase 3. Phase 3 registration will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The government will only allocate the child to the nearest school with vacancies after Phase 3. -
tks qms. I don’t know whether to take the risk or not. Tanjong Katong got 54 vacancies and Eunos Pri got 71. Both more than 2km for me. Tanjong Katong got ballot for 2c supp last yr, Eunos Pri don’t have.
I would think Eunos Pri better chances to get in.
But I just wonder why Eunos Pri not so popular. -

I think you can check with MOE, while phase 2C still going on,I called them and check during phase 2C supp if child cannot get school of choice then what will happen. The officer said actually you will be provided with additional choices in the registration form in case the school you register need to ballot and you are not successful..., so you will be ask to fill in first choice, second choice, etc. Then MOE will post according to your choice. But kindly make another call to MOE to confirm this again. Cheers and good luck! -

Those unsuccessful in Tao Nao, Kong Hwa and Geylang Methodist Primary will go for Ngee Ann but this school only left with 4. The next school will be Tanjong Katong Primary School. Tangjong Katong is more popular than Eunos becos it is so called an international school. Alot of foreign students too. They have a lot of variety of sports eg. bowling etc which other schools don't have. I guess Eunos Primary is less popular becos it is in Eunos area which is quite jam in the morning & evening time when ppl goes to work and come back from work. Please do not get despair, starting doing researching for those schools you are keen to put your child in. Make sure that during the 2 years in the school not of your choice, your child is prepared acdemically for her to enter another school when comes to P3. One school I know is Kong Hwa, they want to see your child's result before they consider whether to allow your child to their school when comes to P3.
