My gal is currently in K2 Little Skool House OCC, they have not started on spelling till date. Did your boy face any difficulties in P1 in spelling? Which primary school is you boy attending?

Did you check with the teacher? If I am not wrong (I ever enquiried before), LSH does not have spelling incorporated in their curriculum.

I don't know if they have changed the curriculum at LSH OCC, but when DS1 was there last year, they introduced spelling tests in term 4 of K2, based on the books/topics they were learning. My boy has no difficulty with spelling in P1.

I enquired one at LSH at mountbatten square and the principal told me its not part of their programme as they believe more in learning thru play.

Spelling is not part of their core curriculum. They introduce it in the last term for the K2s just to get them used to the idea of having spelling tests. I didn’t get the idea that the teachers thought it was very important.
