seaangel, not to worry. MOE posted memo that GY will operate in Bishan in 2012. Heard from the teachers that GY is planning to move out end Nov. Sure the building will be ready. I can see the workers working day n night now, guess must be rushing. This occurred only recently. 🙂

Wish you all the best. I dont think there's any problem with you joining GY. we'll know tmr.

Well I still putting my hopes on waiting list for our first choice. It jus seems silly when the sch is just right at our doorstep yet hv to take sch bus for a sch that's so far away fr us. Thot I will hv some savings on bus transport starting next yr cos he is taking sch bus currently for his kindy too and I find nowadays sch bus fares so ex!! 🙂

Oh btw I realized I 've read yr post wrongly. Thot you wrote 90 over registrants for yest closing… Then found out it’s actually 90 over vacancies. That was why I was surprised at the figure. I tink based on 41 registrants closed test, shouldn’t b a prob la can put my heart at ease already.

                It was reported in http://www.edvantage.com.sg/edvantage/features/people/726934/Mark_Lee_plans_move_to_be_near_elite_primary_school.html?textPage=3\"

\" Compere Vivian Lai's six-year-old daughter Vera, will also be entering Ai Tong next year. However, the TV host says she did not need to do any voluntary work at all, as she is a member of the Hokkien Clan Association, which is affiliated to the school.\"I'm so lucky!\", the bubbly Taiwan-born artiste exclaimed when interviewed.\"

How can this be fair to parents who have spend hours of work voluntering?

In Jan 2011 a new report article said she stays at Nuovo - i think it > 2km away from Ai Tong.Did she move house to be within 1 KM and sucessful in ballot - any parents see her at balloting?

Vivian Lai may be an active member at SHHK for all we know. Some are sleeping members, some are active. Also, one of my friends, a SHHK member for about a year, got her child into Nan Chiau without voluntary work too… Ultimately i feel it really depends on luck…

Someone could have gone in the parents’ place in view of balloting. Maybe they were not even there as parents do not have to witness results of balloting. It ain’t compulsory. I wasn’t there during balloting… Jus called school up thereafter or wait for slow mail…

How do you advice me if I have to move my place to register my kid in GYPS as the distance is too long from my current place? Is it worth considering GYPS in that case?

I am from BT (ulu pandan) and already registered in GYPS in Phase2C. The other option i had is Pei Tong / BT Primary School. As the vacanices are still in the later 2 schools, I could still consider before Phase 3 starts. So just wondering how could I better decide.
