君子好“球” ——立化篮球队长许益通

今年对立化中学（高中部）篮球队来说，可说是丰收的一年。在本届全国校际篮球男甲铜牌战中，立化中学以72比56轻取德明政府中学（高中部），获得全国第三的好成绩。
在球队成功的背后，有一个人功不可没，他是17岁的立化篮球队队长许益通。在众多的体育项目中，许益通对篮球情有独钟，他认为可能是受妈妈的遗传和影响。他的母亲在求学时是一名篮球好手，后来在工作之余，也经常打篮球强身健体。
耳濡目染下，许益通小三便加入了篮球校队，小学毕业后更以篮球特长提前被立化中学录取。从穿上立化篮球队的队服那一天起，许益通就觉得肩负重任，要为立化争光。
立化篮球队的每一座奖杯都是辛苦的汗水铸成的，篮球队的魔鬼式训练闻名全校，每次训练前的热身是围着400米的操场跑16圈，没有顽强的毅力是无法完成的。此外，许益通每个星期有两天的早晨，会自行练跑，锻炼体力和耐力。即使平时没有训练，他也会勤奋地练习篮球技巧。
队友胡志豪表示，益通就像一块海绵，吸收力很强，打球的技术过硬。身为队长，他的组织能力强，策划周到；特别在比赛时，他那永不放弃的精神感染着每一个人。益通常告诉队友，完场哨声未响，比赛就还没结束，哪怕输了，也不能让对手胜得轻松。正是秉持着这种坚持到底、奋力拼搏的精神，立化篮球队才能不断进步，创下佳绩。
已是高二生的许益通即将卸下篮球校队队长职务。回顾过去六年的球员生涯，让他最难割舍的，是队友间的深厚感情，六年的风风雨雨，大家一起走过！这份可贵的兄弟情是他的最大收获，也将是他毕业后带走的最珍贵礼物。
许益通动情地说，那场第三名次赛是他和队友们为立化打的最后一场比赛。他们在最后几分钟看着表针跳动，真想让时间停下来，但那时比赛结果已不再重要，他们只想尽情地享受一起打球的欢乐时光。
仔细一看，才发现许益通的手臂上有一道很长的疤痕。“当时真的流了好多血。”许益通现在说起来很轻巧。事情发生在他中二时参加的一场篮球赛中，对方球员手指甲一划，在许益通手臂上划了一道很深的伤口。可想而知，那场比赛的争夺有多么激烈，但许益通仍热衷于篮球运动，继续在这条道路上寻求突破。这道疤痕意味着，他对篮球的热爱将永远烙印在身上。除了担任篮球校队队长之外，许益通还是立化学生会副主席，负责策划许多学校活动。最忙的时候，他每天凌晨4时才睡觉。他希望为自己身边的人树立一个好榜样。他不相信说教，但坚信以身作则，别人自然会跟随他的脚步。

My friend’s daughter will be going to RV for interview. As it’s her first interview, she is feeling anxious. Can any experienced parents share how the interview is being conducted and the types of questions asked?

my child just mentioned that teacher told them next tue cca training cancelled. apparently rv c division girls are playing in the national inter-school softball finals and they are going down to support.Seems that RV is also getting serious about sports.
think rv softball still very new...think 2-3 years and now in national finals. seems like rv really into sports now. -

From a reliable source, parents will pay a certain % but mostly subsidized by the sch. Amt is not finalised yet. The sch is still negotiating with Singtel, should be ready by Jan 2012. -
All Y1 and Y2 are required to go the Kallang stadium to support the softball team on Tuesday.
The number of DSA applicants is 400, double that of last yr. Must be due to the good 'A' level results.
