Ya lor i am in the same boat like you Mrs Nai...MOE encourage parent to choose near school for our kids but then...

I was interview by FM95.8 yesterday in west grove, so angry of myself that i didnt mention this....

      mrs nai:
Maybe there are too many young parents staying at Jurong West area. For my case, there are only 2 schs which are within 1km, West Grove & Jurong West Pri. But look at the total number of applicants vs vacancies of the 2 schs, 573 vs 233. Meaning there are 340 children couldnt get a place in the school which is within walking distance and they are 'forced' to take school bus to a further school. Haiz..really pity parents like us staying in this area.

        Hi Parents.....

going for P1 2C supplementary registration. Understand that this phase also go by distance priority. However, have heard from someone I know that it could be on 1st-come-1st-serve basis. He registered in 2005 though. He mentioned that the school he went to register for phase 2C suppl., did not want to go through balloting, so once the vacancies are filled, the principal do not accept any more applications. He's outside 2km but he got in as he went to register early.

I really can't verify how much truth in there, but guess better to register early if possible.

            Hi ctcc & KL,
For Pioneer Primary, I called them up yesterday afternoon because I want to check whether they are basing the distance from the current Jurong East address or the Jurong West street 81 that they will be movng back end of this year. Their reply is that they based on Jurong West Street 81 address. Even so my address is not within that 1km and so on that particular moment, I drop my idea of registering at Pioneer Primary.

            KL,
u may want to check if you are within 1Km from Pioneer Primary? If it is then you will have a higher chance. All the best to you.

                Hi KL,

Most likely I will try Corporation Primary - nearest within 1km. But the worry is still there - as mentioned by Mrs Nai there are ard 340 children alone unsuccessful in last thrusday balloting from Jurong West & West Grove and now oni Juying, Corporation & Boon Lay garden has many vacancies (more than 100).

                Hi ctcc,
So you will be going Juying Primary?

                        Hi KL,

Yup, initially i oso think that Corporation is situated in the \"ulu ulu\" place but I actually can see the whole school view from my house corridor yes, it looks pretty big in term of area...I am residing at Central 1 so I have bus 157 and one bus stop away. But have to walk in loh...I don Know whether there are any student care around but let me help you find out more.. Will you consider Boon Lay Garden? Are you within 1km? They also have more vacancies (186).....

                        Hi ctcc,
yup, really hope that tmr will be the final registration...I really don want to go thru the balloting exercise again....

ALL THE BEST TO BOTH YOU TWO & ME TOO
