I think to put it simply. If you are registering for a school using the RC route, the places are still allocated based on distance priority. For this reason, the RC you serve and the school you are targeting should be in the same GRC and you need to reside hopefully within 1km of the school of your choice too. If the school is a popular school and you are staying outside 2km (even in the same GRC), chances are you will not even get the chance to ballot.

        Agent66, am I right?
        Bingo 😉

thanks bishanmum, i am within 1km, just that i happen to be at the boundary cut off, my hse is not in the sch grc , n the rc belongs to the same grc as the sch, while i am not in the same grc as them, and thus i am only an associate EM, i wonder would i always be an assocaite as i m diff grc address....any rc member here can help me?

Quite confusing. You should be looking at schools in the GRC per your address. If the school you want does not fall into your GRC means you will not get the endorsement letter.

                  hi all,

Appreciate your advice. For phase 2B, how to register as a RC member ?

Does it mean that one can only register as a RC member in the same constitutiency that one currently stays in ?

Also, does being an RC member has a cut-off date ? eg to qualify as PV one has to put in PV hours from 1 July of current year to 30 June of following year.

                  Thx.

                  Rgds,
                  Ming

I am old student of Mee Toh, will be under phase 2A for daughter's registration in 2009 if i decide to enrol her there. But that's not my first choice of school. Currently staying at Upper Thomson with no school within 2km. If i choose to enter phase 2B under 'grassroot' to other schools within my GRC, what's the chances. Thank you.
