Hi Chief,
In addition, if my child is under full day child care but my parents are not working, can I consider for grandparents statutory declaration for phase 2C supplementary? -

Just to highlight a point, if you are using the grandparents' address, u will be classified under 1-2 km even if the address is < 1km. So no point for those schools balloting < 1km...

Sorry... somehow missed this post. Phase 2C Supplementary is also subject to the distance rule, so, yes, you need to do the grandparent's declaration to benefit from the 1-2km ruling. Also, what luanee highlighted is important - grandparents' address is only useful if you are more than 2km from the school.Hi Chief,
Do I need to do near grandparents statutory declaration for phase 2C supplementary if the school is near to my parents home and it left with few vacancy? -

As long as your parents are not working and your child is staying with them, it will be ok for you to use their home addresses under the foster parent's ruling. When your child goes to Pri 1, he/she won't be under full day child care, anyway.Hi Chief,

Hi,
As per stated, Foster parent should not be working. But if the child Grandmum is working part time only on Sat and Sunday, does it still qualify?
My child is under his Grandmum care from Monday to Friday. Sat and Sunday, his Grandmum need to help out at Grandpa stall. Please adviseβ¦
Thanks! -
mummyfel,
is the grandma being paid salary, given leave benefit, welfare benefit, getting CPF etc for helping out in the grandpa's stall?
does getting your kid to help out in your stall qualify as employing child labour?
If no, i reckon that the grandma qualify as foster parent that is http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/#statutory-declaration (as stated in MOE website).
if your kid is genuinely under the grandma's care, you should not worry about the Ministry probing as you have a valid case and not using any loopholes in the system. -
Hi Jedamum,
Yes, Grandma get 2day paid with CPF contribution from Grandpa Restaurant.... thus, am afraid that MOE will reject the case even though Mon-Fri my child is genuinely under the care of his Grandma...

For those who are using foster parentβs address please read my earlier post below:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are letting your child take school bus to school please take note that your pick up point must tally with the registration address. Most people do not know this but SLA requires all bus companies ferrying school children to submit a list of names and pick-up addresses to SLA yearly. This list must be endorsed by the school prior to submission. So you should know what this means! -

Just give MOE a call (if you can get the no. on the website) or even better, drop them a note (or you can call and then drop a note of confirmation if the answer is yes). you still have ample time to get their replies (don't think they'll need 6 mths to reply, right?Hi Jedamum,

). just as those who fork out large sums of $$ to buy a property or exploit the loophole of using Grandparent's address as their own address, you should 'fight' for it aggressively (eg appeal etc) if your kid is genuinely under the grandma's care.
good luck.
