Joining the canteen volunteer during the first week is the only way for you to get into the canteen when your kids are out for recess as they actually block the canteen to prevent parents from going in.

They dont actually require the kids to join CCA in P1 & 2, only in P3 then they will have some CCA open house for the kids to choose which CCA they like but its still optional. The list of CCA can be found on thier school website.

Wow...thanks for the useful information, Belinng. I have just registered my son in Pro Teach this evening...feared that the remaining 2 seats are taken away!

I intend to buy the handbook when I am there during the first week...guess I will miss seeing my son in the canteen since I wont be volunteering in the canteen.

I knew a mum today from another Pro Teach centre that has 2 kids in APS. She is very happy with the school and mentioned that the school is good academically... it is great to have good advice from parents who have had experience from APS.

Anyone with children taking the APS school bus? I heard they charge full rate although you require only one way transfer...:(

For school bus, there are 2 types. The big one and the small one, I have experience with the big ones. so far okay as there is a auntie with the bus. The small ones will not have. I think all the buses charges 2-way even if u r taking 1 way even my daughter’s kindergarten sch bus do that. APS is considered one of the better ones after St Nic in AMK. The other school will be Mayflower, but I think a lot of parents dont like the location.

              To all mummies,

I have a going to P4 boy in Anderson Primary and my girl will be in 1.2 next year.
When my boy is in Pr 1 , I put him at the aftercare center opposite APS. The charge is quite X as in $320 per month. I bring him to the center at about 8am and whole day he will be there. After a year I quitted from the student care center as I think engaging a maid is a better choice for my family.

                    Hi Twinklesss,

We bought 2 pairs of the no brand one. Thot cheaper and since
gonna need change of shoes as our boy grows.

I’m thinking of CCA but will decide after term 1 cos see how my boy settles in.

I think it will be better for the kids to settle down first and normally they will know what they want when they know their friends better. For APS, there is no CA1, CA2 & SA1 for P1&2. But there will be informal & formal test through out the year and be prepare that there will be class presentation at least once a year to be counted as their marks for the assessment. Normal topics are favourite toys, occupation, books… both for MT & EL.

The school bus will consolidate all the location to allocate the timing before they will call you. Normally its the last week of Dec.
