Arts & Craft materials
-
I think I saw something like that in a art and craft store in Ngee Ann City.

in my memory, Art Friends is not cheap...if getting just some basic art and craft items to doodle at home, just popular would be sufficient.
if for school use, they would reccommend Popular too, unless they looking for something more 'pro'...

Gmum:
i saw http://www.lollipop.com.sg/ when i passed by a mall a couple of months back. Not sure if parents are allowed to be present with the kid.Hi,
Well recieved all the information with thanks. Actually I am looking for those which can be found in shopping mall where kids sit with parents and paint their cartoon pics (which need to be bake) and sand arts.. keke so sorry, do not know exactly what the arts work call.
Cheers! -
Try shopping at Bras Basah. Thats the place where most ART material can be found. Art Friend will be a better choice as they have many different selections! Maybe you can become a member? Can't remember how I become one but I think you can get up to 10% if I ddn't remember wrongly.
Well, children love cutting papers. And papers are so expensive!!! so perhaps to be more creative, we can always use recycle items like
Newspaper
Papercup
Even envelops from your daily bills and make use of those phamlets/brochures included to create a collage with your child.
At the end of the day, still a nice piece of art work

That is true. And hands-up all those parents with children in Primary school that are NOT already Popular Bookstore members? It's hard to imagine there's any :). It's weird how Popular was my favorite haunt as a kid (other than MPH), and now it's my favorite haunt for shopping for my kid. -
Hi Gmum,
Are you looking for "sand art" - the type u do the coloring with colourful sand, then u put the art piece in the toaster to bake. I don’t noe where u live, but if west side, there’s one at IMM level 3 outside daiso. -
so sorry, just realise u are looking for the "sand art" material and not the mall to do it on the spot, but i think they also sell the materials for u to do at home.

A little off-topic, but just want to add my 2 cents that when buying art materials, the cheapest is usually an expensive buy. Why? Becuase the quality is so poor that the child can’t use it at all. You have to rub so hard just to get some colors out from the crayon. The paintbrush can’t even hold paint properly. The paints don’t even mix well with water.
So at least for the middle-range ones, then your child can enjoy the process and results. If you don’t mind, get the artist-grade ones in a few chosen colors, so that your child can see the brilliant colors. -
Hi,
Wondering are you still looking for a place where you can play together with your children ? Perhaps you can contact Mr. Lee at ClayCulture. In there they provide fun and educational clay/ceramic making workshop for the young and old. Will PM you for details whether you want to know more about them and hope it help… -
i bot my colourful sand from ArtFriend. I also found out the picture template for the colour sand can be bot from a shop at United Square at a very good price… but i cant remember where exact location.
