      bbhome:
Research assignment ! Mine only has his timetable. No assignment list yet.

      Hi bbhome,

First social studies project would probably be Family Tree...seems to be the same every year. More to follow....keke. Just take it easy, it's manageable.

      All the best!!

        Hi clayman

Could I ask abt my chances of registering DS under phase 2A(2) since I’m more than 2km away from the school. Or to be safe, should I move up to 2A(1) by joining the alumni?

DS born is 2008, so I need to join the alumni no later than 30 June 2013 for the 2014 registration exercise.

        Cheers

          Hi,

My son was registered under 2A(2) years ago. I, too, did not join OBA. Should be quite safe, going by past statistics. I would rather save that $500. But if you want to be 100% sure, then I suppose joining OBA would be the way to go.

          All the best!!

sometimes it is good to join OBA to enjoy benefits. this $500, you can earn back anytime. It is not just for P1 registration purpose.

            reason:
OBA alumni help to organize useful, meaningful events & activities for parents in school.

            example of intangible benefit:
            =============================
your alumni may have helped to organize beneficial Maths / Science / English workshop for parents.

if your child has not started P1 yet - there is no way for you to attend this type of useful workshop, because your child has not started proper formal schooling yet.

but if you had joined OBA alumni and your alumni is the one that help to organize such parents workshop activities for the school, then you can join the workshop readily. find out exactly what’re the activities they had helped to organize for the school so far.

it is good to touch base, network around - to keep pace & find out what were the recent development and past major changes & events that had taken place in your alma mater, since you’d left school many years ago. It is also good to network with parents - esp. those with kids who had gone before your child, so that you know what to expect next, when comes your turn.

DS will be registering this year. I joined the OBA just to ensure that I get into 2A1. But clayman is right that 2A2 should be safe. But having gone through balloting to get my daughter into P1 last year, i am being as KS as possible.

Should have paid $50 to join OBA a long time ago!

May I know if you have evaluated ACS Primary against ACS Junior? What are the factors that made you decide to go for ACS Primary? I read somewhere in this forum that some prefer ACS Junior.

I’m a former boy from ACS Primary Fort Canning Road. Can I register my kid for ACS Junior?

If you are previously at ACS primary, you have to stick to it. You can’t go to ACS junior.

                        ezmummy:
                        ALLOWANCE:

How much do the parents here give to your son(s) in ACSP?
                        $3 - normal day
                        $6 - CCA day

Room to spend or save. 🙂
It is quite a bit but oh well. God will provide. 😄

Btw if the PE swimming isn't subsidized, what will we have to pay? 🙂
