      Hi mummies,

The school’s bt kit (which is essentially a diary) is not out yet. In the meantime you may want to provide your child with a small notebook as a communication book. you can write your concerns, date it, and tell your child to show to the teacher. This can clarify any questions you have.

For buying from bookshop, put the money in an envelope and write down the items for purchase on the outside of the envelope. The shopkeeper will put the change back in the envelope.

Recess - usually no such restrictions. Perhaps it was a miscommunication? Btw, cheapest noodle cost 80cents. Burger starts at $1.00. Pasta is a little more. I started off with $1.00 per day for ds, after a while we realize it means he has to eat maggi noodles everyday and increased the amount. There is a water cooler in the canteen if they need to refill water bottle.

Ah, cross post. My son is in p2 and their bt kit is not out yet. If your kid already has his, just use that.

The teachers will instruct what books to bring. Don't worry if the kids make mistakes. They won't be the only ones. 🙂

Hi mummies.. same here, colour cards not taken. The form teacher did mention that the kids needed narrow-lined exercise books & not broad-lined ones. That was during orientation day, and we changed the purchases on that day.

Today no PE although they were told to go in PE attire. I think 1st session so sort of an orientation in class, accordingly to my gal, teacher spoke abt rules & regulations and what they do for PE.

Sunflowerseed.. so odd teacher said no noodles.. Recess time they learn to buy & eat whatever they wanted, that is sold in the tuckshop? My gal had rice since day 1,, today no more buddy she said she go buy herself!! They i heard her having ice-milo, ice-cream, jelly, fruit, etc, on different days. Gosh she seems to be enjoying herself!!

How do we sign up as volunteers? I thought if can help, it'll be good 🙂

Thanks Sunflowerseed. Hmmm… think gotta switch mode for DS in this school. I tend not to call unless it is an emergency. And DD’s teachers are rather prompt with their email response so I tend to use that as a form of communication.

And Deminc, thanks for the suggestion with putting the money in an envelope and writing what needs to be bought. Will do that for DS if he has yet to buy the correct exercise book.

deminc - yes the money in envelope is excellent suggestion - i shall do that. How much does 4 A5 books cost? If I didn't hear teacher wrongly it's $2. anyone can confirm this?

The handbook is out today. My girl wrote a couple of things on it - what to bring tmrw, and since I had a chat with teacher I was able to confirm a longer list 🙂

Chinese teacher also has some instructions.. so take note! 🙂

oh, $3.80 for handbook - tha tmust be submited to teacher separately.

Big mama - i intend to find out more about PSG on friday at the forum.
I'm a FTWM - not sure how it's even possible to do volunteer. Let's see.
I give DD $2 but she asked for more. Says $2 not enough. I forbade her to buy sweetened drinks. Looks like she has been going for the jelly snack, whatever it is! I asked teacher but she could not tell me more about what goes on during recess time as she's not there. Gotta instruct my girl then. No choice! One will learn eventually if you go hungry for a day!

              All the best!

Bigmama - what class is your DD? DS is in 1 Adapt and PE is the last lesson for the day. Didn't know if he should wear the PE attire to school or bring along. No instruction from the teacher (or maybe she did tell DS, but he forgot!)

No more canteen buddy for today? I thought the notes given on orientation day says that the buddy will be with them for 2 weeks? Oh dear! Can they cope??

DS also enjoying the entire process of buying his own food. He is also buying different stuffs every other day - burger, crackers of different flavours, hot milo, cold milo, sushi, etc..

                      Hi all,

My ds in p2 n p5. Need to be in pe attire for days with pe , pal and fitt. As for buddy system, my p5 Ds mentioned that they were with p1 buddy for only 4 days. Parents r allowed to go to bookshop after most kids r released out fm school gate. Thus it will take ar 15 mins after the dismissal time.

Parents - pls note the opening hours of Bookstore at BTPS. I made the mistake of going at the wrong hour.

Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays :1:45pm to 3:30pm
                        Wednesdays : 1:15pm to 3:30pm
                        Fridays : 12:45pm to 3:30pm

However I think the bookstore is open during school hours for kids to buy stationery because the teacher told me to pass money to child to get her to buy the books so I can save a trip there.
