Parents, does your child have enough time to rest? my dt gets up 5:30am, and goes to bed after 10:30pm. I'm worry about the long term effect...
I woried about that too but this seems unavoidable. The higher you go, the shorter the sleeping hours. The only thing is to let them have more sleep and rest on weekend. If by any chance or luck when there is a day or so with lesser work, dd would sleep as early as possible.

One of them is the worry that children may use the ipad to play computer games which a professor refuted. The children ipad will not be connected to the internet but only to the school educational network. Is that the case in Singapore?

Huh ?? U dont need to be connected to the internet to play ipad games,
juz download fr the apps store beforehand.

          Talking abt ipad teaching......
Last yr, one of gal's teacher used his own ipad to teach the class which was connected to the overhead projector.

Yes. ipad isn't completely new. Selected classes or lessons in Nanyang Girls High, RGS and NJC etc...have tried using ipad already.

I said RV likes to try new things. I believe they may have developed some contents which use ipad. It shouldn't be using ipad for the sake of using it. The content should be innovative too...for example maybe 3-D modelling of difficult concepts which is very hard to explain bywords or 2-D drawing on books like gene which is a double helix etc...

i'm confident that RV had some workplan in place to in-corporate the iPad with the school learning path.

most probably that not much was presented during the opening brief may be related to some proprietory or in-house workplan to be kept closed-door as part of RV's projection in the iPad learning concept.

in the commercial world, it's similar in the area of business projection, secrecy is an essence towards achieving higer business goals.

did we hear much about the works from other instituitions when they do launch their programmes ? it's a close-door drive too ... Cheers

be receptive to RV's headings, both parents and students ... šŸ™‚

I think the upper levels will be buying their iPad. The school is introducing this device in stages, starting from the Y1.
