Bigmama - for T shirts, I iron above the crest because that’s how the older kids have it.

My girl left out her BT kit n Chinese text when she left for school this morning. HOpe she wont get scolded but it’s probably a good lesson for her. I would rather she learn responsibility at P1 then struggle thro’ life losing her stuff. Sigh.

Jean - Spelling for my gal in 1 R - is on Thurs.

supposed to be a test in the first place?

DS has not exactly been enjoying school. We had to keep psyching him up and just when he was starting to get positive, something had to happen to put us back in square one.

He was punished for being unable to locate a set of worksheets that he was supposed to hand in. It was in his bag but through the course of the day, the worksheet got crushed to the bottom of his bag and he did not realise that. The teacher made him sit in what he calls a naughty chair and told him if you don’t have your worksheet no need to learn.

DS was pretty affected by this. As it is he has been dragging his feet to school every morning but after this incident, for the whole afternoon, he just kept claiming he is very tired and stayed in bed. Even when his friend came looking for him to play, he refused to get up.

We found the worksheets and I told him to explain to his teacher and he just nodded. Then he asked me, why is it ok for the teacher to misplace my workbook but I get punished just because this once, I could not find my worksheets. At least now I found my worksheets, she still could not find my workbook and had to give me someone else’s used workbook.

                    Hi Funz

I feel for your son…poor thing. The teacher should not be so fierce. After all it has only been 1 month of P1! You can email the teacher to explain and also question the teacher about his workbook. I don’t see how he can work over someone else’s book.
May I know which class is your son in? My girl is in Adaptability.

Yup was kinda surprised that DS was punished for not being able to find his worksheets. And was a bit taken aback when DS told me that the teacher said ‘no worksheet no need to learn’. Think it was a bit uncalled for. Then again, DS could be mistaken about what the teacher said. However, he is very clear that forgetting something is not being naughty. So he is feeling indignant that he was made to sit in the naughty chair. Unfortunately, DS does not respond well to such methods. He will ‘shut down’. As it is, he is already asking me things like, you said it is ok to make mistakes, so long as we learn from them. But with my teacher it is not ok. I get punished the 1st time I make a mistake. This school doesn’t allow mistakes.

                      Haiz…

I am ok with the workbook thing. I think the books got mixed up and some other kid most probably has DS’s workbook. It is afterall just the Stellar handwriting book.

Think I do need to give the teacher a call tomorrow.

                        Hi Funz..

Ya I think it's good u email the teacher at least she can be more sensitive in future.

Talking at the Stellar Handwriting book, I wonder what's going on. My gal said she lost hers today. Left it on the table, then dun noe where she goes, after she came back the book was gone :((

                        But overall she's enjoying school.
