      Peony:
      Yup, she does!

Do you have specifiec areas of concern?
Thanks Peony! Guess my main concern is how the school instil discipline and values to the girls.

      Glad your girl enjoys school!

      Thanks

These two areas are their strength. They instill discipline through values - in very positive ways, emphasising on feelings.

They are taught to be other-centred and this also forms the culture of the school. When prefects are interviewed (I know coz DD when thru it), they are also asked questions pertaining to values.

There are two major awards given to the P6-ers. One is for overall achievement (results, character etc.) and the other is solely for character - giving, kind etc. Thus throughout their primary school years, the value of giving, kindness, giving, etc. are emphasised and rewarded.

As to how they discipline "wrong" behaviour… it’s not through "harsh" punishment. Mainly through positive reinforcement. If one child "hurts" another, she has to apologise, and the other has to forgive. I don’t have any personal issues to gripe about.

There are the few "naughtier" ones, the teacher will reprimand whenever they are naughty but DD has not encountered out of hand situations. Teachers will call parents to give the necessary feedback.

          Hi,

My daughter is in 1 Courage.

Currently, my girl is taking the school bus to school. But on certain days, she wont be able to take the school bus as she has to go to school earlier.

I am stuck as both my husband and I are working.

Any advice or any reliable private school transport?

          I stay in Punggol.
Hope your situation has been solved. I really don't know anything about transport as my DD does not take the school bus.

That's great! What you have just mentioned is very reassuring and confirms my decision. Thanks a lot Peony.

I recall being in your position too, Gingersnap, and another mummy with girls in the school told me, "Don’t need to think. She will love the school."

              She was right.

All the best to you and your DD!

                hi! good day!

I am new in this forum and also we just moved here in Singapore and my daughter will be entering a new school but since the school days here are different from our country, A friend of mine suggested that she could attend an engagement class this June is that the right term? in order for her to fully adjust when the school opens in January I have been wondering if ST. ANTHONY’S CANOSSIAN PRIMARY can help us to let our daughter attend a class this coming June after the school vacation? what are the rules in admitting a new student under a dependent visa? Can anyone help me here? I am really having a hard time looking for a school for our daughter, as well I am little worried since she is not that fluent in mandarin language.

                Thank you!

                  Hi tulipsandpink,

Why don’t you write in to the school or give them a call?

The email address and numbers are listed in the school website.

                        Hi,

Anyone can advise the Newton Series science books by Vitamindz for P3, is it compulsory to buy? They are textbooks or workbooks?
