      Dear Parents,

need your advice. My hubby studied in FMPS and we are considering sending our daughter there. However, we stay in Simei and moving to Dover now does not really seem like a gd idea considering the high prices of HDB flats ard the area. Does anyone have any idea if the school provides sch bus service from east to west? still considering cos we cant imagine dragging our kid up early in the morn just for the school bus. would be tough on her. it would be weird if we are in phase 2A but decided not to utilise the opportunity to go FMPS rite? troubled troubled...
Hi you must really consider the distance. Like you I live in the east (actually not as east as you) but work just opposite Fairfield. The fastest time I ever achieved driving is about 30 mins (using PIE or ECP the same) - this is off peak. On average, it is 45 mins. When there is any jam at all on the expressway, it will take 1 hr or more. School bus may take longer having to pick up kids etc.

The travelling to and fro everyday will take its toll on the child. Even for adults, it's tough...

Since you confirm can get into Fairfield, moving closer anywhere in the West area (need not be 1km since you are in P2A), is a more viable long term option esp if you have other younger children who will also attend Fairfield next time.

        Dear Musings,

wow, you are amazing. Fancy driving the distance everyday. Then again, it helps that you work near the school. Is that your reason for choosing the sch? How does your child return home then? School bus?

you have made a very gd point. i have 2 gers. maybe I should really consider moving to the west even though i really love Simei. everything is so convenient here. if we stay in e east, we would consider either chongzheng or st anthony canossian primary. just not sure if we should move to west or give up phase 2A. but would we definitely be confirmed a place if we move? hubby said we should wait till we are confirmed a place first then move…but not sure if it would be too rush as results would be out in july for phase 2A. sighz, this primary one registration is sure a tricky thing…

Hi sorry if I'm not clear - my kids don't attend Fairfield. Just that I work opposite Fairfield and thought should point out the burden of the long commute from east to west each day!

So far, no parent in P2A in any school in Spore was not successful in getting a place. So it is 100% confirm unless the rules for P2A change. There has been a lot of clamouring by parents to restrict the places available in P2A - so as to leave more to P2B and 2C. I thought many times of moving west too since many schools in the area including secondary schools etc but also love the East too much.

Phase 2A is as good as a confirmed place in the school. If you are really moving over to that area, then go ahead. If not, you need to reconsider. Unless you are driving your child to school yourself everyday, the travelling time would be way too long. What about CCA/PAL days or supplementary lessons - how is your kid going to get home? I think the same bus drivers will come and pick them for an extra $10 a month. Bus & MRT would take 1-1.5 hrs. The Dover stretch is really crazy in the morning. If I were to compare Dover and Simei, I think I much prefer the Simei area. :siam:

Did anyone here attend MTP session for P4? Please share the talk. I couldn't attend due to family emergency. Also they mentioned on the slides that they uploaded the scope and sequence for English online. I can't find it. Do you know where I can find it?

              TIA
Hi! I could find the scope and sequence for English too! I think I will drop an email to my boy's EL teacher on this. Since your child is also in P4, could I know if there is topical review for Maths next week(the week of 20th to 24th Feb )? I only know that my boy will be having topical review for Science. Thanks so much!

Hi! I found it! It is in the school's website. Under the drop down bar \"Parents\". Scroll down to MTP 2012 Slides, SOW. Hope this will help! 😄

I received the email which was sent by a P4 rep as well but his math teacher did not remind them about it. May I know what class is your child in? Did his Math teacher remind them about it? Thanks!

What a coincident! My boy is in 4F too! He missed lessons for 2 days this week due to gastric flu. So I am just afraid the teacher mentioned by he was not around to note it into his handbook.
