[Clementi] Primary Schools
-
Hi all,
I am new to this site. Just now, I was going throโ this thread. Since I am staying in Clementi and so close to Clementi primary school, was wondering how good the school is. I heard the good comments about nan hua a lot. But there is not much information on Clementi primary school. Could anyone kindly comment on Clementi primary school?
Thanks in advance -
I have a neigbour whose kids have attended Clementi Primary but both husband and wife have rather negative comment abt the school. However, when I asked why they brand the school as "lousy". there is no definite answer. I suppose there is no such things as lousy school and all schools are capable of producing bright students.

Thank you for the reply. Now I am more worried although brighter students can fluorish from any schools.
Initially I wanted to do Voluntary service for Henry Park primary school. But by the time I enquire about it (in March), it was too late for 2003 kids. so I did not do any voluntary work for any good schools.
Since Clementi primary school conducted balloting for those kids living within 1-2 km distance (this year), will it be advisable to go for balloting (more than 2 km distance) with Henry park primary first?
I worry that We might not be selected in balloting in Henry park; at the sametime, we would also loose a place in Clementi primary school which is within 1 km distance from my house (worst case scenario).
Will appreciate any comments on this issue.
Thank you -
Hi Harishita
I understand how you feel
Of course! A good headstart in life is advisable. SInce kids are too young to secure their own benefits, parents have to do it for them. ITs KS spirit.
My niece study at CLEMENTI PRI this year P4 ( top class )
The mother complaint to school and ask their Form teacher ( Form teacher taught 3 main subj > ENG > MATH > SCI > to much work FOR teacher !!! ) to review the homework load. then the situation got better. Maybe some neighbourhood school's homework load is even worse than popular school as popular school do not need to show others that they are good. i think when we register our kids to this school or that school, we also need to consider their abilities as well, else they will suffer...just some thoughts.

Hi aggellim,
Thanks for the feedback. I really appreaciate your help. -
Hi Harishita,
If you are not a PV and not staying within 1 km, the chance of getting the child into Henry Park under Phrase 2C would be v. low or even zero. I suppose u r not enrolling yr child into Nan Hua because of its limited Mother Tongue offer. The next best alternative would be then to enrol for your child for Clementi whereby your chance is almost 100% in Phrase 2C. You may want to compare other nearby alternative like Pei Tong Primary, but Clementi seems to be a more popular sch for a reason unknown -
Dear Shy,
Yes. You are right. Nan Hua is not our choice because of its limited mother tongue options. Yes. I agree that the chance for getting in Henry park is very very low. -
If you stay >2km outside Henry Park, dont bother to register under Phase 2C.

Hi,
Has anyone compared Nan Hua and Henry Park? Both as stressful? -

I have 4 nieces/nephews in Henry Park, never hear them complaining about being stressful at all. Not sure about Nan Hua.
