      Carewsl:
Thanks Jedamum, i am actually considering school near west side/ clementi - Nanhua or Henry Park Primary school. Looking for place within 1km and preparing for parents volunteer. Based on your opinion, which is better choice and stand a better chance for balloting. My aim is to provide a better school environment for my sons (Born 2008) and Born (2011).Thanks

Not sure about your chances in either pv or ballot, but both are very sought after schs n gep centres ie better resources, curriculum ba eg twinning program n what not for those not qualify for gep in p4 etc. to note nanhua Chinese focus is much higher than henry park imo.
Actually with the means to relocate, why restrict to only west? If u r mobile n looking at relocating, u should consider Boys sch with good affiliation to good sec schs since u have 2 boys. Jmo.

no harm trying to apply for pv at both schs; once accepted (by both if you are so lucky/can provide niche services), you can start pv and then decide which sch you like...there is no obligations to complete pv hours if you subsequently do not want to register in that sch (but must complete if you want to register in that sch). Not sure if PV is open to foreigners, this you must check if you are one). for phase 2c, both are hot hot hot schs. balloting status, you have to check at the relevant threads in this forum.
            GEP info is http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/programmes/gifted-education-programme/gep-schools/
advantage of getting in GEP centre schs are that some general programmes may be shared among GEP streamed and mainstreamed classes (this i heard/read la, no first hand experience).
you should read and browse MOE's website to read up more about local pri schs.
more popular boys pri sch with affiliation that i can think of
            - ACS
            - Maris stella
            - Catholic high
            - SJI Jnr

Chongfu School is at Yishun Avenue 6 whereas
Jurong Pri School is at Jurong East Street 32.

So, what are your consideration factors?

So, what are your consideration factors?

I just moved house from Yishun to Bukit Batok. I have a girl who is now in Chongfu and personally I'm quite pleased with the school teachings. The students are well-behaved and studious.

I have a younger boy so I'm contemplating whether we should put him in Chongfu or Jurong Pri (my former sch).

Princess Elizabeth & Keming in Bukit Batok are both more than 1KM from my new home. So it seems almost impossible to secure a place there.

And really dread the idea of having to go through balloting again...

                    What's your opinion ?

Personally, I have no idea how's the standard of Jurong Pri. now.

                        Hi parents out there,

I just joined as member. I have twin girls who are in K1 now. We are in hougang and last december submitted my application for parent volunteering in Hougang Primary. Apart from that school, would be thankful if anybody can share what other schools are good in Hougang and what our chances will be to secure a place there.
My girls were born in 2007, that means they will start P1 in 2014. Is it like the school will inform parents about P1 registration during the term of K2? Pls share. Thanks
