If RGPS covers more, then it must be due to the teachers' initiative, cos the GEP syllabus should be the same for all the 9 schools.

But I am sure about the statistics:
the top two classes already has 42 students invited for GEP… the teachers told my child.
I cannot comment on the rest of the classes, as my gal only knows one other gal who is not from a top class but got into the program.

Yeap! I also heard from the RGPS’s teacher that 26 girls passed the GEP test.

I am worried about NYPS though… I am considering sending my gal there, but do not know the chances… if she puts NYPS as first choice and don’t get in… I am afraid she might miss her 2nd choice (RGPS) if there are no more vacancies

I hope ‘26’ is true though… because I am about to put RGPS as the second choice.

Yes, the syllabus is the same throughout the 9 GEP centres. That's why I was a little surprised when I found out too. I think within the syllabus, the teachers can choose to impart more information, or cover more. The fact that it is an all-girls environment also helps because girls are more serious and less disruptive in class so the teacher can cover more in the same amount of time.

My dd just chimed in to say that the teachers are very caring and the GEP students and teachers are very close-knit.

Actually all school will have prize-giving day which give out trophies for the top 3 in class, top 10 in level and top in subject... at least that's what I know from my kids school and my sister's kids school...

I heard of school, eg Gong Shang, give award to top 10%... If I am not wrong, Gong Shang is under Hock Kian Huay Kuan also.

Gong Shang is not under SHHK.

I know of one school only gives out award to top in standard and top in class. No award for top in subjects, or other positions in standard or class. Maybe they want to shorten the award ceremony as it is held together with P6 graduation ceremony

Based on historical statistics, about 20 or fewer RGPS girls make it to GEP each year. So the figure of 26 is more likely. Perhaps the figure of 42 you received was for students who sat for the second round of GEP selection tests, not the ones that actually made it through.

I think not to worry it has 100 seats in total and RGPS 75 .sure you should get . Location also counts. if you stay in Tampines for ex then ya you need to worry.
