      Pls help.

The plate is empty. She __________ my cake.

      (1) has eaten (2) had eaten

The sentence is in present tense, should use (1) but still already eaten,my DS said should be past tense ??

      Hi

      Good Morning.

I am more inclined to use the Present Perfect Tense.

My choice is (1) has eaten.

We use the Present Tense to show a connection to the present. The action was done in an unspecified time.

Please have a look at this video.

      Best wishes

yes, I also think that the answer is (1) has eaten.

The subject is the \"carton\" rather than \"apples\".

                        (3) was

The carton of apples - collective noun - considered one group (two days ago - so past tense)
