Appeal Secondary One Posting
-
you can only appeal on Reporting Day, where you go to the school you got placed in and someone else in the family go to the school you want to appeal. For last year, you will have to appeal before 10.30 am, if I am not wrong. The appeal process will be put up on the school’s individual websites soon, so check it.

How do we 'discover' their talent, short of trying different types of sport, musical instrument etc. Care to share if there are ways to assess if the kid has hidden talent?Would like to share with the parents with younger kids, choosing school by
1) dsa -- required few years effort on certain gifted talent
2) psle result -- 5 years consistent hardwork + exam luck
You really need to discover the talent in your kid as young as possible. most important is natural and they enjoy.
If you miss those, when you need to apeal after psle result, still back to the square, most of the transfer of school is based on the TALENT in your kid. -
I chose Whitley as my first choice with a cop of 203. My score is 213 which means I've a really high chance of getting in. After submitting my six choices, I went to google Whitley and found out the behaviour of this school is really atrocious.. My fifth and sixth choices are the only two schools which I've met the cut off point. They are Peirce followed by Guangyang. I now wish to appeal to Peirce, but am afraid it wouldn't be successful as I've placed it as my fifth choice. What should I do?

Have you called or emailed MOE to find out whether it is possible to amend your submission? Even if deadline already closed, there should still be some way. -

Will MOE entertain my call or my e-mail? If it's possible I will take the chance and of course amend my submission!! I'll try to call MOE. Thanks for the advise!!!

Every child has hidden talent... That's why it is said 'Each child is different' .. some discover early ... some not so early. I have two girls... younger just passed PLSE with clear results in favor of languages. Elder yet to decide what to do at University..... No clear indication.. so much so that whether to take engineering or Huminity route is not clear yet.
As a parent, we support & not be 'Kenchong' . If they pursue what interests them, life will be less of struggle. Just wait... it will be known one fine day  -
Thanks for the advice ... seems like it is merit measured + CCA(the value of the student to the school)
kiasuson:
Not true. Most of students below the COP and making it to the schools are doing very well. It all depends on your attitude.

My kids like singing when they are young, so they try out some music lessons, and I brought them to sports halls, they join us for some exercice, it is easy !
They will ask for more if they like it. The most important thing is do not quit easily. -
Dear all members,
First, sorry if I do not post in wrong subforum because I am newbie here.
Second, let's me tell my story:
- I am final year nus student looking for information about appealing for secondary school. My younger brother was awarded Singapore government merit award. However, he is randomly allocated to Tanglin secondary school. From information I gathered, it seems that Tanglin is not so good. In my opinion, the study environment is the main factor for a good student so I want to ask if is there anyway to appeal for higher ranking school? If anyone experiences or have information for this case, please advice me.
Thank you very much

What is Singapore government merit award? Are you referring to Edusave Merit Bursay? How did he ended being posted to Tanglin? The posting goes by merit and by your own choice of school before the posting.Dear all members,
