Hi I’m not interested in getting tuition for my DD in sec 4 but would like to improve her english. Wanted to get her some books to do on her own. But English is very…hard to mark and grade. So I would like to ask for some suggestions on how to improve her English.

Its very difficult to improve command of English…but not that tough to improve compo content. I would suggest preparing data sheets and content points for expo if thats her chosen compo type. You can actually study for expo

Thanks. Will ask her to do that for expo. Sadly I would like to improve her flair in writing but that would be rather hard

With writing, practice really makes perfect. Getting used to fancy vocabulary, alliterations or a particular style will eventually make her write as beautifully and naturally as possible. A good guide is coming up with compos every week and having them analysed and improved accordingly.

            Hope this helps!

I think reading will help a lot. Work on grammar and vocabulary as well.
