Sec 1 Camp

I think you better prepare $500. Secondary school textbooks are more expensive than primary ones. Moreover, there are 10 subjects. :moneyflies:

Yes I agree, better bring $500.

I know sec sch text cost slightly more than $200. If buy from Popular, can sign credit card.
Also no need to carry so much cash around. -

Yes, U may buy textbk fm Popular but what abt the exercise bk, writing pad, sch files & etc. These can only purchase fm the sch bookshop. I remember spending abt $400 plus on all the books, uniforms, PE attire & sch socks too. My frd brought $300 and had to rush to the ATM again. Books alone were abt $300 +/-. It is norm to spend abt $500 for sec 1 but when they promote to sec 2, it's usually only abt $150 +/-.I know sec sch text cost slightly more than $200. If buy from Popular, can sign credit card.

Yes, I hate the part where I have to buy exercise books etc from the bookshop and the textbooks from Popular - double work and wasting a lot of time.
So I usually bring more cash for the Sec 1 orientation and buy everything there. -

Exactly! I prefer that too. One day settles all. Don't need to make another trip. I was at Popular yesterday, the crowd and queue were terrible.Yes, I hate the part where I have to buy exercise books etc from the bookshop and the textbooks from Popular - double work and wasting a lot of time.

And the worse part is that when you go to Popular, they tell you they don't carry certain books (especially true for Primary schools where some books are only sold to the school - don't know why, don't ask me!), you have to return back to the school to buy the books which are not available in Popular!
So you've made 3 trips, school, popular, school!

But what if we appeal?
Then the textbooks might be different, but we will still have to go to our distributed school to get the booklist. -

U may get the booklist from the posted sch first. Appeal, wait, result then get the books. U might hv to wait till sch starts and get the books on the 1st/2nd wk. Usually, the students will be having their orientation/camp on the 1st wk.But what if we appeal?
