Do we have to inform the school on 23rd that the child is transferring to another school?

I think have to inform the sch that you are appealing to another sch. So that this sch knows how many vacancies they have for others who want to appeal to this sch.
No. I don't think so. The appeal case is school prerogative, not even MOE will know about it (of course later MOE will be informed).

I was told that once your appeal case is accepted, the school ythat you appeal will give you a transfer letter for you to handle over to the school assigned to you originally.
Does anyone know how to appeal for secondary school

Check the sch website whether there is form to fill in. Attach it with testimonials, result slips, etc. A ref no. would be given for future correspondence.
Umm caroline3sg, may I know what kind of testimonials and result slips are needed? Are they needed to be written by my DD's formal p6 teacher???

Thank you caroline3sg, and I look forward to ur reply !!! :salute:

Is there any example of the appeal letter?

I'm trying to type one out, but it doesn't look formal enough/I just don't know what to say.
              Sorry. :?:
              :thankyou:

Most schools would have their own appeal form. Check with the school that you are interested in appealing to.

Looks like top schools would be busy with appeals from Dec 23 onwards

What to do, that's part and parcel of their job at this time of the year! I am sure they are used to that by now! 😉

Standard appeal letter usually ask for why you want to join XXX sch? What are your achievements.

Testimonials from CCA coach or form teacher.

Copy of PSLE result slip & if necessary P4-6 report book.

                        Just Mama:
Can someone pls adv how we can appeal to the school which yr child wants to go but has not met the minimum cut off? Our dream school is njc, cut off 259. child only scored 255 .... depressed mama

                        Not to depress first.

This year Express Student has 1000 number less than last year. 255 might already be good enough.

                        :celebrate:
