Anyone knows what is the class size for P3 next year? There are currently about 30 kids in each P2 class but I understand the class size will increase to about 40 plus for P3 classes. Is this true? Or is it the top classes have 40 kids while other classes have 30 kids? 301 current P2 kids into 8 classes or 9 classes? If there are 8 classes(so far I heard there are Achieving, Sincere, United, Gracious, Respectful, Caring, Innovative and Observant), that will mean like 42 to 43 kids in a class next year. That is nearly 50% increase in class size. Or did I miss out any class? Any 3 Loyal?

The school should have use 1 day this week for the P2 kids to meet their new classmates and form teacher for next year’s class allocation for familisation. They are actually let off for holidays more than 1 week earlier than official date.

Well, if it is pure coincidence that majority of kids going to 3 Achieving and 3 Sincere comes from the same class, then this class must have a team of star teachers that can create such results! Talk about being secretive in their allocation.

If 8 classes, the number of students in each class will be at least 42 then. 2 top classes, 4 mixed and 2 bottom classes.

I am told that out of the whole cohort that goes into the two best classes in P3, they are split based on their positions in the whole level - odd positions go one class while even positions go one class.

Not sure how true is this.

for P3, only the first 25% are allocated to 3Ach & 3sin, the next 50% to the next 4 classes, all mixed abilities. the last 25% are weaker …another 2 classes.

for p1, once sch reopened and form teachers are allocated, you can tell which is better class. usually senior teacher or more experience teachers are allocated to the good classes.

p2 loy in 2012 is a senior teacher, and most went to 3sin and 3ach.

I was thinking about this…maybe the P1 classes were allocated based on admission phases. And Phase 2B parents are usually more concerned about their kids results (which is why they made efforts to be in Phase 2B in the first place)…and as a result, their kids are usually better trained and hence is smarter.

P2 Loyal this year were mainly Phase 2B kids…
