Is this the Merit Bursary ?

My dd received hers recently. She did badly in her PSLE, so if it is based on Prelim, then I am very, very surprised.

Top 25% (base on school prelim) will be able to apply for merit bursary, provided total household income is not more than $2500.

The monthly household income should be not more than $5000。

I bet you will put your DD into RVHS. πŸ™‚

Are you refer to Edusave? It is base on school prelim results? You should have receive the MOE letter by yesterday if you child is qualified. He/she has be be in the top 10% of his/her school cohort to be qualified.

            Not top 5% mah?

the whole cohort 330 students, top 10% is approximate top 33 students (abt 3/4 of the class) for PRELIM result. Then my kid should get it. I think it is top 5% which is about top 16 students.

              No. It's top 10%.

              From MOE website:
Edusave Scholarships for Primary Schools (ESPS)

For Primary 5 or 6 pupils

If your child is studying in primary 5 or 6 in a government or a government-aided school, he is eligible for the Edusave Scholarship for Primary Schools if he is amongst the top 10% of students of his level. Your child will be selected by his school for this scholarship based on his overall school examination results for the year. The value of the award is $350.

I know the value of the award because my kid awarded last year at P5.

PSLE result is top 10. Prelim result was not as fantastic as PSLE, but to be among top 33 should not be a problem. Why never received the letter leh?

Agree. It is for top 10% and based on his/her school results (prelim for P6). Not PSLE result.

My gal received her Edusave Scholarship letter just 3 days ago πŸ™‚

I know it is based on prelim result. I guess chinese oral pulled down the marks, calculated score abt 230 approximate aggregate for prelim. Fortunately, wake up on time to score 265 for PSLE. Never mind lah, at least can make it to good sch.

Thinking of all the ways to get bursary, why not check this out?

The centre which my kids are attending is having an Essay writing competition. They are giving away total of $13000 worth of prizes.

                      Here's their link
