I totally agree with you :)my girl has been asking me Plenty of qnts on the school and it feels good that i can share my experience with her.although i was at the old location at opera estate but still the IJ experience is there.

Abit worried about the dropping off and picking up situation though as i heard its a nightmare during drop off/pick up times.guess will get used to it:)

We used to drop off and pick up from Marine Parade Road.
For pick up after school, I will suggest you go there about 15-20 minutes after school dismissal. This way there is less problem with the traffic, esp the buses.

I used to drop off either before 7am or late, close to 7.30am. Also managed to avoid the bad traffic condition.

I will keep away from Martia gate actually cos the traffic build up there can be quite bad.

Anyone know what to pack for first day of school? For my son’s school, we were given a list on stuff to pack for the first day. For CHIJ KCP, I am at a lost.

My gal is going to CHIJ katong next year. Does anyone know which are the sudent care centres ard the school? Can share?

Did anyone of you receive a sms from the school bus operator? Is the operator saying first day of school starts at 9am?

Sorry for the late response. Thought I had replied but maybe I did not.
When the rain is too heavy, suggest you drop your DD at Martia Gate. There will be volunteers carrying big umbrellas to help shelter the kids when they are being dropped off.
Over at MP Gate, I think maybe only 1 person is doing that.

No need to worry about being late when rain gets too heavy. Traffic will be very heavy so I think the school will understand.

Hi, I am also looking for a student care centre near CHIJ Katong Primary when I saw another parent's (Aamama) comment on Page 12 of this discussion thread, which gave some info on a centre that is likely to provide student care service.

Do check out Page 12.

I wanted to register my girl at Tao Nan's in-house YMCA Students' Care Centre but the centre replied me to say that they cater for TNS students only. Anyway, TNS is temporarily shifting to a holding sch in Bedok in 2014-5.
