anyone send their kids to Ascension Kindy?
Any comments on their curriculum/teaching etc?
Any other kindy to recommend in the vicinity?

Hi dimension, u can try "Kim Keat Christian Church Kindergarten" @ 11 Beng Wan Rd S(339843) Tel : 62941665 (near bendemeer rd). Both my kids attended kindergarten there. They were very good at that time but I’m not sure how’s their standard now. U can try calling the principal, Lin Lao Shi, to arrange to view the school & maybe to attend a trial lesson. Ascension Kindergarten is very well known but not easy to get in…long waiting list during my kids time.

My dd was from there. They call their school the Big Doll House. My dd had a wonderful 2 years there. The fees was 6 hundred plus per term if I remeber correctly. That was 5 years ago. Heard the principle Mrs Kwek left but came back.

It's a nice pre-school. The teachers are all very creative, you can tell from their theme work for the classrooms. They used to have a yearly exhibition of the children's work. It's open only to the kids and families. It's very impressive and I used to ask the teacher why not let the public go enjoy it too.

When my dd was their, they did alot of music,visual and performiing arts. Don't know about now.

The school is very well organised. The kids start their day singing in the school hall. I'd recommmend it.

May I know how is yr kid’s transition to Pr 1 like?
are the things taught in ascension enough for them to transit to Pri 1 without any problem?

Do we need to send our kid for other enrichment while they are at ascension?

checked out Kim Keat also seems quite far.

How about Canaan Church which is at St Francis Road? There is also an Elim Church at the main road?


Both are quite a distance from Boon Keng MRT. My son is taking the school bus.

canaan church is quite near my ILs place
but i can’t seem to find much info about their curriculum, fee and structure etc

hai i like ascension leh. coz my nephews there. i know they learn many interesting things like gymnastics, music, chinese poetry. but most impt is my nephews like the school, unlike those they attended previously

My son is in Canaan Church. I like the Principal and teachers there. Before I decided on Canaan, I went to Ascension, Kim Keat and Elim Churches to speak with the Principals.


I shortlisted Kim Keat and Canaan and had very long conversations with both Principals.

You can make appointments to visit the kindergarten and find out more about their curriculum, fees and etc.

what kind of activities do they do there? whats the class size?
what are the session timings like for nursery class?
i think most impt for me is for my kid to enjoy the school.

i really would appreciate talking to someone who actually attend the school
instead of the Principals (i mean usually they say good things mah lol)
did u pick canaan over kim keat coz its nearer to the mrt?
but i have emailed them for a visit. waiting to hear from them.
