Yes, they are moving to bedok from 2015 to 2016. They haven't fixed the date for open house yet. most likely in july.

Hi, thanks for the in put. When you mention 2015-2016, does it means for 2 years?

I certainly hope they don't move, is harder for us to monitor my girl when she is in school and having to arrange pick up from school and maybe even in morning....

Btw, do you mind sharing with me more abt Haig Girls? Like their academic performance and also overall building for the kids moral, character building and etc....

Lastly, the recent change in some of their teachers and VP, is there any impact to the school? As I read in the FB some parents mention the kids are supposed to have art class but they didn't conduct it and instead given them math to do on their own...

Changes of teachers and VP occur frequently in all schools. shouldn't have affected anything much.

Regarding the art class matter you read, it's from my gal's class and happened once and my gal did not tell me much info about it so I did not really care and think it does not matter much. Maybe in the beginning of the week, the teacher could not tell parents what to prepare for art class on time. Imagine doing finger printing without wearing apron, you will end up throwing the uniform away with all the paint mess.

Anyway, my gal have been very happy and always looking forward to go to school and i believe it's the same for many other children in HGS. That's the most important to me.

Haig Girls' has a fairly high % of pupils getting into Express stream..wonder why it's not as popular as other schools in Marine Parade. Did a comparison when I enrolled my daughter there this year. I like the school not just for the results though.

Hi, i am considering to register my girl to haig girls(she is for Y2016 registration). Sounds abit KS here but may I join in this thread for some queries? :oops:


1) Is the open house in Jul open to public?
2) We are staying within 1km from the school, may i enquire if the chances of balloting is required?
3) Will there a need to do parents volunteer for better chances of securing a space?

Registration for 2016 is 2 yrs away so many thing may change. Their open house is open to everyone. base on pass history, staying within 1km very unlikely need ballot if your child is sc.

Please also take note that in 2016, the school is still at it's holding area at bedok (current st hilda's pri sch holding site) and will move back to present location in 2017.

HGS open house for 2014 P1 intake is from 4 Jul to 5 Jul, 8:30am to 12pm. Just remember it will on the same day as Phase 1 registration.
