Ok conclusion is, if cannot get into HCI/ RIJC, choose NYJC. If cannot get into NYJC, never mind, there is still a backup EJC. If cannot get into EJC, still have NJC/ DHS/ VJC. If cannot get into all these JCs, just choose Polytechnic. 😀

RE: Secondary School Chinese
hi Chen laoshi, based on your experience, is it somewhat true that 80% - 90% of HCL students will get A1/ A2 in Sec 3 O-level 普华 exam? I heard many people say that distinction is almost guaranteed for HCL students.

RE: Networking Group - JCs General
Hi, how do I interpret this data?
Does it mean that CJC performance (even though taking in students at COP of 13) is on par as Yishun-Innova JC (COP 20)?

While I understand where you are coming from, I don’t think it’s a right approach to the problem. Otherwise, by the same logic, one should pick St Andrew’s over Catholic High (OP) because one is affiliated to SAJC while the other to CJC.
I think it’s better to look at each school on its own merits. Affiliation to JC isn’t as much of a big deal as affiliation to a good secondary school.
Ultimately, which is better is highly subjective. One is a co-Ed whereas the other is a single gender. KC should have more affiliated students compared to St Hilda. IIRC KC is also a much smaller school compared to St Hilda.
For Catholic High students where majority of the students scored well above 250, I believe they can easily get into those top tier JCs so in a way, affiliation is not that important to them.
However, for students in the 220+ to 230+ range and planning for JC route, I think it is better to have a better affiliated JC as a backup.
I agree it is subjective but personally, if to compare these 3 mid-tier JC, I have better impression of ACJC, SAJC than CJC. -

Hi, I will choose St Hilda’s. It is affiliated to SAJC, COP 10/11. KC is affiliated to CJC, COP 13/13. SAJC is a better JC than CJC.
Hello there,
Would like to know is CHIJ Katong Convent a good school? If compare with St Hildas, which one is better? Pls advise.
Thank you -

Hi, 238 is a good score and your girl should choose TKGS and not KC. KC has too many affiliated students with much lower score of 200+ to 210+, do not think it will benefit students of higher capability in the long run. Those schools that take in Express stream students above 230 is more ideal.
Hi Tommy,
Yes,I think there's a typo error! On my 6th choices list of schools.Only Chij kc & GES are within her cop at 238.The rest like Tkss is above 2 points. My gal prefer girls school,so these are the schools,I hv shortlisted for her.Just to check my whether my 1st & 2nd choices are logical? The rest I'm not sure, whether the cop will drop this year.. -

Me too. Unless due to location proximity, TKGS is my preferred choice too. Personally, I will not select those schools with affiliation and tscore ranging from 190+ to 200+. I prefer students of similar capability to be grouped together.
I would go with TKGS. More express classes.Van08\" post_id=\"2005741\" time=\"1606660795\" user_id=\"31802:
Hi, my girl's score is 239, we are looking at TKGS or PLMGS as first choice. Both COP are 237 (plmgs non affiliation). Any advice or comments about the 2 schools? Thanks!

Bartley. Students are generally well-behaved. The school is not near shopping mall, lesser distraction.
Hello I would like to ask for my son as he got a T score of 192 should he go to bartley secondary school or guangyang secondary school. Any suggestions?
My colleague’s daughter graduated from Bartley 2 years ago, got straight A1 and went to RI(JC). She entered Bartley by AEIS because they are from China.
Not sure about Guangyang but in Bartley, there are a handful of academically strong and highly competitive China students.
