Hi all, can anyone share some feedbacks on the quality of the teachers and teching methods for pri3 and pri4 english, chinese, math and science from Stalford at Sengkang Compass One and Punggol Waterway Point comparison?

What is the benefit to PSLE if taking standard and higher mother tongue language? Which mother tongue language score will PSLE use to calculate if a student takes both?

When can we register 2015 p1 students for student care in mee toh?

When is the mee toh p1 orientation?

The problem of the children hitting their domestic helper. I believe this does not fall on the school to educate their students on how to treat their domestic helper. In school, in any school for that matter, pupils are taught good things and values are inculcated formally and informally. Each child is taught how to treat others and how to behave. However, parents should shoulder the responsibility to educate their offsprings too and not just leave it to the school to bear all blame. The children could have learnt all these domestic helper abuse by watching their own parents beating and treating their domestic helper in that manner. Does the responsibility of educating the parents also then fall on the school as well? What kind of a society have we become if the first people we look to when such a failure in teaching the children on manners fall immediately onto the school? Do reflect on what you are insinuating.

Secondly, as for the second revelation that the students loiter around outside school to spew vulgarities and play with the mobile phone games. I believe this is not a problem unique to this school. It just so happens that you are living near the school and have seen a small group of pupils from this huge school doing so. Is it fair to implicate the whole school and its character development programme as a result?

Take a walk to other parts of Punggol, Seng Kang or other neighbourhoods for that matter and see if the problem is more rampant, less rampant or just a rampant in these places.

Bottom line is that, as a on outsider, it is easy for us to pass judgment onto others while hiding behind a keyboard. However, we need to be mindful of the things we say, either directly or indirectly, as it might not be fair to those that we have sweepingly implicated by our words. I am sure the staff of this school and every school have done their level best to look into the overall development (to get good results and to be good human being) of these children but where exactly have they failed?

I have seen for myself how students of other schools in this neighbourhood behave and also been to other places to see how children in those places carry themselves and I have my own views. However, I reserve judgement or comments as I know that I am not in the best position to say who's right and who's wrong. Neither am I qualified to decided who is to be blamed when the youth behave in such a deplorable manner.

I hope I have not offended anyone from my post. Just my take on things.

Good reply. Let me give the school some justice. I have asked some senior citizens, full time housewife and domestic helpers who are staying nearby the school to clarify mommy lenny's observations. All of them said no such cases as students hitting their domestic helpers and spewing vulgarities. My mother-in-law personally went to the nearby hdb flat to make observations. Her answer is also same as what the neighbourhood people have told me . I am not sure what has made mommy lenny to say those inaccurate facts that hurt the school. As in the law of justce, we all base on evidence to make accurate judgement.
I hope I am not offending anyone here but still need to announce that mommy lenny's all statements made in the post previously have been proven inaccurate and misleading to the public in this thread. This is just to speak base on the evidence and I have no relation or whatsoever connection to the school.

From MOE website, MTS has increased from 56 initial phase2C vacancies to now 58. Suspected 2 parents who were from phase 2B withdrew but curious to know why since MTS is very popular in punggol. Maybe less likely from phase2A withdrew. Anyone got any news about this?

Mommy lenny, it may helps if you can personally inform the school of what you see so that the school can improve on their students character development. Public should also play apart to help school to improve on student character development.
Any parent can verify whether are there cases of such students behaviour as what mommy lenny has observed?

MTS is the most popular school in Punggol now.
Could be overrated but the demand for this school will remain there for years.

Which school (MTS or Horizon) students have more homework and remedial classes? Which school has a better teaching method?

You got the fact wrong !
In Punggol, Horizon didn’t reduce the vacancies for 2C this year.
Mee Toh School is the one reducing compared to last year.

It is true that Horizon has a much higher take up rate this year entering Phase 2C, because it has a reduced in-take (from 270 down to 240) and is in the 5th year of its operation. Horizon has probably reached its steady-state this year in terms of alumni in-take, and future years will probably be similar to what we see this year.

It is also true that Mee Toh went into balloting in Phase 2B for the first time since 2006.
