My son is not in student care. I saw the student care inside the school compound. But I have seen like a group of students walking towards the school just b4 lesson time. An adult was leading the students. I'm not sure if they are from a nearby student care or not.ahcapp:
Hi, congratulations! Good to know. I am sure your child will enjoy his primary school days a lot. Next time, it will be morning session for all students as they go into single session.

Hihi
Thanks. Like to check with you whether your son is in the school based student care or even his friends? I like to get some feedbacks on the student care as I am planning to put him there. Thanks in advance. -

For maths and chinese, they use MOE approved textbooks. For Engliah, the teacher will read a story. The story is actual teacher teaching tools because it's a big story book. The children will read the story too. Then the vocabulary and english lesson will be based on that story. The students will be given worksheets based on the story. Oh yes, we make payment at the beginning of the year for the english worksheets. My son has a folder in school for each subject.s worksheets.Hi,
I also just successfully got a seat for my son. Has been browsing for more info about jps but info is so limited. Wish I can have more information about the teachers, cca and curriculum. Anyone can share more?
Thanks ahcapp for sharing so much. Your post is one of the those that makes a difference. It's very reassuring. Hope my son will enjoy the school as much as your son does!
Even the spelling list is based on the vocabulary from the story.
The maths worksheets are from the maths workbook. Like wise for the chinese.
For both english and chinese, my son has show and tell. Total 2 show and tell per subject so far. The teacher will guide the student with the show and tell framework. Then the student needs to go back home to write their story and practise. This is when parents like me will get busy. Hahahaha. The student is required to show and tell in school in front of his classmates. -

Monitor Keming to see how is the last day of registration like for SC within 1 to 2km. If no chance at all, you would need to move to your alternative choices quickly by the early afternoon of last day of registration.Hi all,
Now I am dilemma cause tmr 2c phase , Keming Primary School at bukit Batok only left 62 vacancy. I am 1to 2 km away from the school. I not sure should I try my luck? or register my girl at another less popular which as 100 over vacancies. ....Please someone advise me.....tks
Which are the schools within 1 km? Or those within 1 to 2km, would the chance of balloting be higher? So you should have alternative choices standby by now.
Good luck and best wishes! -

Hi,Hi,
Thank you very much for sharing the info.
Ahcapp, i like to know if your son enjoying himself in JP and how he feels about this school.
May i know why JP is popular in Jurong East. I choose JP as it is convenient for us in term of transport.
my son likes going to Jurong Pri School. Whenever I ask him how was school, his answer is always \"Awesome!\". But my son has always enjoys going to school and learning new things since young.
The classes are named based on the school's values. eg 1 Responsibility, 1 Respect, 1 Care etc. Students are also encouraged to demonstrate such values in school. Like during the sports day, there was even an award to the class which got the most votes (from the teachers) for demonstrating the school values.
Everyone in my son's class is given a responsibility and there is rotation. So a student can be a mother-tongue monitor this term, and then the IT monitor the next term. This encourages every student to have a sense of responsibility.
We try to be more involved in our son's school activities. So my husband volunteered to be a parent volunteer for the school outing and both of us went for the school sports day. It was fun being part of our son's primary school life.
During the meet the parent's session, the teacher let the students presented what they did in school to the parents. It was good because this got our son to practice his presentation skills. To me, this shows the school emphasis on imparting skills to the students thru various duties they give to the students.
To be frank, I have no idea why Jurong Pri School is the most popular in Jurong East. After all, we don't have any experience with any primary schools and there are no reviews online. Like you, we do want a school nearby for our son and also, his siblings. We have heard good feedback from Fuhua from our neighbours too, just to reassure you.
So far, we are happy with the school. Our son's positive feedback reassures us that he is enjoying his primary school.
P1 registration is very stressful. I didn't know how it was till I went through it last year myself. I wish you and your child best wishes. I am sure all will go well. Good luck! -

Hi
Please advise the balloting results of phase 2Cs in fuhua for 2014. Is it for sc or pr?
We have 3 choices: fuhua and yuhua are within 1km and jurong is within 1-2km. I actually want to try jurong in phase 2C and if fail, fuhua can the next choice. However, fuhua will need to ballot too. Hope anyone can advise .thanks.
Hi
My son got into Jurong Pri by balloting last year. We are within 1 to 2km of Jurong pri. Our decision was give a try at balloting if 1 to 2km has a chance. 12 students 15places. My son took the 2nd last slot and a set of triplets got in before our son. We were very lucky.
Do monitor Fuhua at Phase 2C. As a lot of PRs withdrew from Jurong Pri at the last few hours and enrolled at Fuhua. Meaning fewer places left for SC at phase2cs. Considering you are within 1km of Fuhua, your chance is higher than us. I'm within 1 to 2km of Fuhua.
best of luck!

RE: [Jurong East] Primary Schools
I going to put down the stats here to help those preparing for next year 2015 P1 registration.
For this year 2014 Phase 2C, Jurong Pri conducted balloting for SC within 1 to 2km. 20 kids ballot for 15 seats.
Good luck to all future applicants. -
RE: 2014 P1 Registration Exercise for 2015 In-Take
Balloting results for phase 2C is out. For those disappointed what is your next choice of school? I am one of the disappointed one unable to secure a place in Rulang and I stay just a min walk away from the sch. Anyone else just like me???
Yes 600m from the nearest school and i wouldn’t wish that experience on any one. Horrible thing to go have to got thru.
Now is the time to evaluate what options you have and plan. Balloting is indeed very stressful. I wouldn’t want to go thru again.
best of luck to you for phase 2cs!
