Thanks, Zac’s mum! Never thought of unsuccessful 2B cannot go to 2C if >2km!
I got no backup plan. Only ‘choose wisely’ 1 shot at 2C: either St Hildas, Tampines or Poi Ching. I am totally clueless.
Someone setup Whatapps group, not a single word. Weird

This one no need to wait and see for Day 2 lah.St hilda's, less than 200m 😥
Horse year lot of kids... his K2 got 50 students, not counting other centres.
Confirmed, guaranteed, chopped that applicants will exceed number of places available every year. Ballot for SC < 1km for Phase 2C.
Your strategy will depend on what alternative school(s) you have in 2C.
And your risk appetite for the balloting odds. Eg. Have you decided if 1 in 2 odds, you won’t apply? If 1 in 5 will you apply? Any chance is still a chance worth taking if your 2CS backup is acceptable to you.[/quote]
If odds 1:5, will need to decide and opt for other schools. Does the unsuccesful 2B applicants move over to 2C balloting as well, then by distance? -

Hi, I live <1km and only eligible for 2C.
Should I wait after day 1 registration and see if it is over apply? So I can opt for 2nd choice -

What are my chances at 2C <1km for St Hildas? Or I should opt for Tampines Primary. 1 chance only >,<

From Elite.com.sg
Parents can register their child at any Singapore primary school of their choice. However if there are more applications than vacancies, then balloting will be conducted. Balloting will be conducted according to the following order of priority:
Children living within 1km of the school
Children living between 1km-2km of the school
Children living outside 2km of the school.
Is this why the balloting for 2C takes 3 days? Day 1 for <1km… Day 2 for 1-2km -
RE: 2020 P1 Registration Exercise for 2021 In-take
Maybe, just maybe if the child don't do well, will the parents be disappointed because of higher expectations after clocking in all the hours and getting the child in? Not everyone can afford to stay home. With travelling time, almost half the day is gone weekly, how to compensate back? It is not about a few hours off. Office operates 5 days, I go back on weekends to work alone? If home finance is strong, I also want to be a SAHM. We are not educated and the best we can give our kid is the education. Reading program is a must and I think our reading standard :scared: , 80 hrs also cannot split between 2 parents. We stay opposite the school and now it seems we have to travel out for other schools because of this amazing system. Fortunate for you and not fortunate for us. Still got sick parent to feed, can do either 1 only = work or stay home do PV.
Just ranting off, no need negative views. -
RE: 2020 P1 Registration Exercise for 2021 In-take
Went through the PV interview at St Hilda’s. It was a nightmare.
80 hrs, compulsory reading program of 2-3 hrs once every weekday. Other ad-hoc will be once or twice a year for school events.
So in short have to take afternoon (or morning) off work once every week for about 40 weeks (10mths)! The program only allow 1 parent, not to be split so to let the student to get used to you. I can’t afford to take half day off every week for 10mths. It is not longer whether the parent can commit. You have to stay jobless to commit this, with no guarantee to get into this school. Really absurd. -

Anyone applied for PV at St Hildas for 2014 babies?
