if i applied at phase 2B and want to withdraw after monitoring the numbers at phase 2C, what should I do? can i register online for phase 2C? or have to physically apply at the school at phase 2C? both parents' IC required for registering at phase 2C? and both parents' IC required for de-registering at phase 2B?

You have to go in person (exactly like phase 2B) to the school you want to apply at phase 2C to submit your application. Once you submitted, you will have withdrawn from phase 2B.

Actually, i thought you have to withdraw from the school in Ph 2B first before the other school at Ph 2C can even accept your registration in the system. There can only be one registration for 1 child in the system at any one time?

Marine parade GRC is where NEX is right? Part of the GRC

To be sure, just go to the lift lobby of any HDB block and see if there any RC notice board. Usually it will indicate the GRC the block is in.

I believe the other way to confirm which GRC or SMC your residential address belongs to is to go to the PA website; look at the bottom right hand corner of the home page; enter your postal code. It will tell you exactly which GRC or SMC you belong to based on the postal code. Then go to the MOE website and see which schools are currently under that GRC or SMC.

Thanks, ChiefKiasu! I am not sure what is required for the preps.. but will be polishing up her vocabulary and reading skills (Eng & Chinese) for the next few months for Pri 1 readiness. Any advise on what else needs to be done?

Go popular book fair in suntec! Buy pri 1 assesment books. :moneyflies:

Ehhh, I say, go on holidays, bring your child out to play. Time left to play is super limited, next time ability to go on holidays will depend on HER schedule.....go go go.[/quote]Totally agree! We are leaving for our holidays next week!!! Play before my DD goes P1 and have to follow school holidays......not much time left!!

I think we should push for schools/MOE to provide more information regarding the registrations at all phases, i.e. breakdown of SC/PRs, no of applicants in the 3 home/school distance category so as to minimise the balloting situation. I think most parents will make a wise decision to avoid balloting if given the necessary information upfront.

I give kudos to those schools who turn parents away if they expect overwhelming responses...

I agree with you that MOE should publish the vacancies breakdown according to <1km, 1 - 2 km and >2km for SC or PR who registered. It was a tedious process for parents like me to keep track and made the swift move to register in a relatively good school that requires no balloting. MOE should seriously consider implementing updating all primary schools' websites with the latest statistic figures. Otherwise the poor admin has to answer high volume of calls.

Completely and 200% agree!! The information provided by MOE at the end of each day is not relevant or adequate for parents to assess their chances.

Sembgal, good morning! The feeling that it is all over today is unbelievable right? All the stress, work and preparations leading up to this......took a few days for it to sink in that this is all and finally over!

Just realized Fairfield got 6 or 7 withdrawal aft 2B. Sooo upset cos I was one of 9 who balloted for the one and only one vacancy left for 2B :(...sigh

Patisy, you are right. There was a total of 9 who withdrew after Ph2A. 3 withdrew in Ph 2B and 6 in Ph 2C. I believe there was a lot of these happening in quite a number of schools. Parents who want to secure their seat under alumni or old boy / old girl while monitoring their chance at their first choice school.

You were caught in an unfortunate situation in this system. :hugs:

Did you successfully register at Alexandra in the end? The registrations there was overwhelming!!

Congratulations to all parents who registered successfully without any balloting! After going through it last week, I definitely understand and empathise with the stress and anxiety that you were all feeling the last 3 days!

For all parents going for balloting, all the best on 6 Aug 2013!!!

      Hi,

Does anyone have the statistics for Fairfield? From the MOE website, there were 62 applicants. Are they all SC staying within 1 km?

Called Fairfield at 8 am. As of end of day 2, all 62 are SC within 1 km.
