RE: My son not coping well in JC 1 now/is Poly route better ??
Hi All
Thanks for all your sharing. I agree with all of you... some of the JCs are known for setting tough papers. And this may somewhat discourage our poor kids, esp those who are not resilient enough in telling themselves \"I can do it & I must put in my very best\".
My child is one such example. He ( & his peers) have the mentality that \"no matter how hard i try, i'll still fail\".
As parents, this is a frightening scenario for us; seeing our kids giving up hope even before they enter the examination ground
It's exam time now... let's wish all our kids the very best & may they learn to realise that one has to put in effort in order to yield results. -

Thank you for all your advice & views. We’ll wait for his promos results to be out & will talk to him. Yes, indeed, he has to really buck up & knows exactly what he wants/ whether to pursue uni studies.
Of late, he has been diligently preparing for his exams & hopefully, he has actually woken up from his mid-yr grades.
Thank you once again, everyone !! -
RE: My son not coping well in JC 1 now/is Poly route better ??
Dear All
I would like to hear your views/ experience here:-
My son has failed all his subjects in the mid yr exam , except for the GP paper, which he has done very well.
He is very sociable & outgoing; spending his time hanging out with friends & not putting in effort to buck up on his subjects.
Am wondering if the Polytechnic route is a better option for him should he fail his year-end promotional exam?
Am only afraid that he may end up hanging around as the time-tabling & lecture schedules are not as "routined" as that of the JC curriculum time-table.
Appeciate your views/ sharing on this. Thank you!
