Hi, I’m looking for an LA tutor for my child. Would anyone have any recommendations please?
Have any heard of Mdm Yu who conducts her lessons at Tanglin Community Club? Saw her name on a website but no information on her background. Wanted to hear feedback from students or parents who have engaged her before.
Thanks!

RE: IP English Secondary
Hi, sorry to hijack this thread. Was looking for discussions on IP Language Art and this seemed the most relevant.
Would anyone have any recommendation for Language Art tutor for Year 2? Would prefer group tuition in the West, if possible. Appreciate any info on LA tutors. Thanks lots!! -

RE: National Junior College (Junior High)
Hi! Would appreciate some help here.
My child is in his first year in NJ and he is not doing well in his studies. I am trying to find him assessment books or exam papers to help him but I can’t seemed to find anything for IP schools.
Can anyone share with me how do your kids revise for their CAs and SAs please?
Do you think textbooks are sufficient?
What kind of assessments do your child practice on?
Sec 1 express stream books?
Appreciate all advice. Thanks! -
RE: Q&A - PSLE Math
Using units and parts,
Chocolates :
Jim : 10u - 5u = 5u
Ken : 5u
Sweets :
Ken : 10p - 5p = 5p
Jim : 5p
For Jim :
5p - 12/5u = 1/7
35p - 84 -------- 5u
For Ken :
5p/5u - 18 = 1/4
20p ------- 5u - 18
20p ------- 35p - 84 - 18
15p ------- 102
1p -------- 102/15 = 6.8
10p ------- 6.8 x 10 = 68
Ans : 68 sweets.
Thanks so much! I supposed the 10u and 10p used for chocolates and sweets are based on assumption? I can also use 20u and 20p?
You are most welcome. Yes, the units and parts are based on assumption; keeping the numbers as small as possible, I believe, would help reduce the chances of students making errors in their calculations.
Understand now. Thanks once again for your great help! -

Hi! Can anyone help with this please?
Jim bought some chocolates and gave half of them to Ken.
Ken bought some sweets and gave half of them to Jim.
Jim ate 12 sweets and Ken ate 18 chocolates.
After that, the number of sweets and chocolates Jim had were in the ratio 1:7 and the number of sweets and chocolates Ken had were in the ratio 1:4.
How many sweets did Ken buy?
Thanks!!

RE: Nan Hua Primary
Hi, I am looking for a private bus that can send and fetch my son from NH Pri urgently. Would appreciate if you can share your contacts with me. Thanks!

I am desperately looking for a bus that will take my son after school to Killiney road area. Please forward me the private bus contact list if you have any..
THanks.yappie:
hi ilynn, thank you for your suggestion.
Since the Comfort bus company which is appoitned by the sch cannot provide the service, I have actually make an effort to find out the rest of the existing Private bus service provider from NHPS and only one provides the service to Woodlands but what annoyed me is that he is demanding at $400+, thinking that I have no other alternative but to get his service. I did not want his service as it is really ridiculous! I have checked up the cost from Woodlands to NYPS is only $120 and here the guy is demanding $400 and my son will be last one to alight from the bus everyday. No way to pay this person $400!
BTW, Which level is your child in? How do you send you child to sch? do you train him to take the bus or MRT? What time does the sch morning flag raising start: at 7.15 am or 7.30am? -

You can call Nan Hua to check. Let them know where you're staying and they can confirm if it is within 1km.Hi, a few questions wanna check here:
1. how can I know which condo/HDB fall within 1km of Nan Hua this yr?
2. Is the 1km area given by government website onemap.sg reliable?
3. Will 1km area change every year?
thanks!
